which food(Indian) one can eat when not feeling well?

Hi all,

I am in USA and I got sick. Due to cold weather suddenly caught into throat infection and tummy upset. Last two days I am fed up of eating Moong khichadi,Dal and rice. I didn't go to Dr because of some Health insurance issue. I took tablets at home brought from India prescibed by my Dr.

But I am feeling weak not so fresh still need to handle household things by myself.

Can anyone tell some easy preparations to cook for me and my family I have 5 yrs old son. Just two days before he also had fever,cough and cold but feeling better now. Please let me know urgently. Any remedies to recover fast.

hi poonam...the easiest to make n the best to have during such illness as cold n stomach upset is garlic rasam (u cud also add to this a little bit of jeera and omum if u have)...not even necessary tht u need to make a side dish if u have chips to go with it...for stomach upset u coud have jeera kashayam. For cold u cud try drinking warm milk with a pinch of turmeric n pepper added to it.

had lot of juices,orange and mousembi with glucose is gud for stomach upset u can have breads,as salads.have a tsp of honey this will help u to come up with cold.take lot of liquid food

 Hi Poonam,

u cn hav "chapati"..chapati has low glycemic index n hence gets digested easily..hav sum moong daal with it (cook it in indian stylel)..rasam is also gud fr u..avoid curd/fruits as u've throat infection..soup wil b good fr u..anythin with low glycemic index wil b gud fr u..plz dnt eat heavily as u've stomach upset even if u feel too hungry..alwys eat in small quantity at sum interval..
