Hi, I am mom of a 16 months old kid, recently i started to put her in day care, but the thing is she does not eat at all in day care except the food she really likes like banana. she is refusing the food she used to eat at home, for initial 2 to 3 days it was fine when i used to send her for 3-4 hours, but its been a week, things has been worst.i have tried with multiple food options, but no luck, Can someone suggest what can be done?

Hi S1N2D3, the problem may not be just about the food. Going to daycare is a monumental change for kids who are used to being with their mom or grandma all day long. You can check to see what they feed her in day care. Maybe she eats enough there that she is not hungry at home. Happens to my kids as they are motivated to eat by watching their peers eat. My son had a terrible time with the first day care I tried. He was 18 months old and it was a daycare with 10 other kids. The attention he got was appalling and pathetic. No wonder the poor kid woke up with night terrors almost 3 days in a row. I switched him right away to an in-home day care (with good reviews of course) where he was 1 among 3 kids. The caregiver was extremely nice and made sure to give him extra hugs and that made all the difference.  Hope any of this vague info helps !
