My daughter is around 1.5 years old.. she is usually a picky eater, just eats lemon rice, soemtimes idli, chapathi and curd, nothing else much as food, but has everything in bits and pieces. We used to give her formula (enfagrow) in the night before she sleeps and if she misses any food in the day we give her formula.
For the past 1 week she is not interested in eating in any solid food, but having milk only most of the times and curd she is accepting some times.
She is having running nose for couple of days and I am using nasoclear drops for clearing the congestion now and then. She is otherwise active and normal, not sure what is the reason for not liking any food.
I have read in forums that teething will slow down the apetite, she seems to be getting her lower molar teeth.
Any suggestions will help. Thank you.
You can reduce her intake of milk ... This generally helps. The reason being that most of this formula is so rich in calories they fill up their tummies..
Most kids try to get their calories quickly from milk, they dont want to chew. As a parent, you should keep on encouraging your child to chew.
Keep on trying. Dont give up... First offer solid foods when hungry and not milk.
Thank you for the reply. I tried to spend more time as one of my friends suggested and it seems to be working. I tried to talk to her often and be with her most of the time when i am in home and she is responding well.
My daughter is not eating any fruits. How can I make her eat fruits.
she is 22 months old. She doesn't like sweetness in fruits.(She is not eating sweets also). She will eat which is little spicy. I tried giving juice but she is not interested in juice also.
