Can someone please throw light on Rustomjee Cambridge international school .please let me know if they are taking admission for standard 6 ..I am planning to visit them ...please share your views
I am talking about Rustomjee at Thane majiwada...please share your views...
I am interested in putting my kid to Rustomjee Thane in the 1st std. I noticed that you had been focussed in putting yr kid to this school last year.
What made you decide on this school? Has the school lived upto it?
How are the quality of teachers? Is there a lot of homework? And what about extra curricular activities? Do they have sports every day?
The reason I am asking all this is because the existing school does not do too much in terms of extra curricular activities and the their studies at senior kg is getting quite intense.
Any information you can provide me will be very helpful. Thanks and will be waiting to hear you views.
you all a Happy & Prosperous Diwali
Hi , please find replies
Yes after long discussion reviews I took admission of my kids in RCIS Thane
What made you decide on this school?
For me their feedback about their Dahisar school , location and discussion
with principal made me decide to select this school. we were unhappy with
Kids earlier ICSE school which were not upto mark, lots of issues including hidden costs
for each activity.
When i came to know about Rustomjee , i thought to give it a try and came to
know that school takes extra curriculum to ensure CBSE contents
are covered as part of delivery during 10-12 th class.which was my main
worry for competitive exams ahead. since i stay at Majiwada and Singhania
admission was not available this school was one of the options.
Also Jr. College attached with school was also one of the reasons .
Has the school lived
As parents we both are happy , kids like to go to school,
their calendar is published for whole year and fortunately they are
able to meet target timelines. these calendar are
published for year altogether on their website. teachers know each and every
student well. Only issue was less students that's obvious for
new school 1st year.
I must say...I forsee good future for school as well as kids. If you would have
read yesterdays times of India , Rustomjee Dahisar students are toppers for
different subjects across world as well as across Asia in few subjects.
One more thing helped me to take decision...school will be till 12th standard
ie; Jr. College
How are the quality
Teachers are good , qualified , young, cons... few have less experience but
kids easily gel with them as they are next gen teachers and 1year will be less
to judge or comment in quality. but
without any doubt better than earlier school.
Practical studies more than theoretical.
Is there a lot of homework?
As per policy they try to avoid to give homework in case of anything they need
to practice they request to some school early and complete .teachers are
available...very less homework...
But they ask to check few details from net and other sources which will be more
of practical in nature ...like discuss with shopkeeper about their business and
explain in class...though its not mandatory..My kids enjoy it.
And what about extra curricular activities?
I am sharing Blog for RCIS...you can see the activities ...even in less student they are able to manage. Best part is they take care of most of accessories required for practical. which was major issue in earlier school.
For more details , suggest to Visit following URLhttp://rcisthane.blogspot.in/?m=1https://www.facebook.com/rustomjeecambridge
Check facebook as well for more details.
They have cooking as well as dance &Music as mandatory subjects...every week..
Field trips , Olympiads , interschool competion are part of activity.
Do they have sports every day?
Not every day but 3 days...one more gud thing all days sports shoes allowed and
they have taken care kids have light dress..
Table tennis , Carrom , Football , etc are subjects.
I had same queries what u have...thats why i thought will reply my views if
that can be of help.
Since m happy about school i will recommend.
I must also write cons of school so that it can be helpful,
1. New school
2. Location at Majiwada , co struction will be going on for Rustomjee township
adjacent to school for next 2 years.
3. Less students for class above 3rd standard..but expected to increase as able
to see friends of my kids are taking admission to RCIS shifting from
4.fees higher by 5-8 thousand than other ICSE schools .
For any further query will be happy to share whatever I know ....
I replied in break statements as it was not allowing to post all content together for some reason...
Thank you so much for the feedback... Been wanting to someone whose child studies in a higher class
I read the news article for the kids topping in the world. Are these cambridge exams that they have topped in? So would the competition be within cambridge curriculum based schools?
Thanks again for making the effort of giving a very comprehensive picture of the school
Do they follow the ICSE curriculum till higher standards and then IGSCE in the last few years?
I was happy to note that they do not have homework, at least not now. I had attended the orientation and was quite happy with the responses. Also spoke to some parents, whose children attended Rustomjee.
Also, the fact that they have sports and extra curricular activities are a huge plus pint.
I was not too bothered about there being less students right now. That only meant that my daughter will get more attention in these formative years:))
Thank you once again
Do they follow the ICSE curriculum till higher standards and then IGSCE in the last few years? They are following ICSE curriculum as per IGCSE approach , wherein most of things are practical. Like last week they had chapter on Dream , they were asked to to draw the picture of dream and present it to group, My kid was happy to talk about match against Ronaldo along with his elder brother , thereby beating his team.
Most of books are same as of ICSE. 9th and 10th IGCSE patterns will be included, Actually I am not sure what difference it would make , till my kids know more about fish & their names when I visit to Aquarium.
So would the competition be within cambridge curriculum based schools?
Yes , competition was between IGCSE schools which also included Dhirubha Ambani , Podar etc .
Just for your info , almost every class had new joinees at RCIS after Diwali including my kids class .
We stay at Brindavan complex, the nearest school is Rustomjee, the reviews of Rustomjee school, Dharisar are really good. My son is will be two years old in January, 2015.
Your valuable information will be very useful to take decision about the school as lot of schools are there in thane.

Thank you, @Papa2Pareshan, for the info... It is a huge help to get this kind of info...
My daughter is in Sr. KG and we stay at Manpada. My only worry is that she will be the only kid from our complex. I am only worried about the distance, otherwise I was quite impressed with the school. So, we are still contemplating:)))
However, u ve been a big help. Thanks again
thanks a lot papa2pareshaan ( like the name, we all pareshaan too about admission and choosing the right school for our child )
for such a detailed information regarding the school.
Was searching info about RCIS and your inputs have helped me a lot.
My son is currently in IInd std SSC board ( exams currently going on ) and we want admission for IIIrd std.
Is it possible now or i am too late ?
U have shared - "All new admissions pay a one-time Registraion Fee (RS) 45,000 All payment to be made directly into the School Bank account Quarterly Fees (incl. Term & Activity fees) 19,800 Annual Fees (Rs.) 79,200 Books estimated 2,000 - Optional field trips, out-station camps, and excursions are arranged through the year. - Uniforms are to be purchased from the open market"
So every year fees is around 80k. I hope no other hidden charges ?
i found this info in the link shared by you :-Fee Structure Nursery Fees June , 2016 Terms All new admissions pay a one-time Registraion Fee (RS) 45,000 All payment to be made directly into the School Bank accountQuarterly Fees (incl. Term & Activity fees) 19,800 School Fee hike 10% every year as per year of entryAnnual Fees (Rs.) 79,200 Section Change Hike applicable from Sr KG to Std 1 and Std 5 to Std 6Books estimated 2,000 - Optional field trips, out-station camps, and excursions are arranged through the year. - Uniforms are to be purchased from the open market - In Standard X (IGCSE), there is an examination fee of Rs. 10,000/- per subject (March 2015) to be paid to the Board - Text costs IGCSE approximately Rs.10,000/- (March 2015)
so a 10% hike in fees every year and additional cost of 10k per subject in 10th std
Being a working mother it does not suit me at all.
Any chances of having morning batch ?
Yes this ID was made in frustration when I was confused between schools and was not clear what to do. Once school was decided , I planned accordingly and shifted nearby.
Before getting admission of my kids to Rustomjee , I had almost visited every school and decided for this school after going through 3-4 rounds of meeting with principal. They were new , still were not advertsising much like Goenkas , Orchids and other international schools.
My first choice was Hiranandani , but that time they were not admitting students from outside or even on rent. Feedback was good. Even for DAV it was good but was informed heavy homework. When I came across Rustomjee , I thought to give it a try.
They already have school in Dahisar and relatives satying there had confirmed very positive feedback about them. Just followed them on google and news about their students and thought to give it a try and atleast till now I am not regretting the decision.
as shared earlier activities can be seen here , kids faces tells it all.http://rcisthane.blogspot.in/
even search there facebook page. I am happy as a parent due to their transparency in fees and time table , less home work more of a practical approach.
If I write many goodies , it may be felt as if I am marketing them ...which is the case even I feel for others who are writing for specific schools.
Just get feedback from any of parent whose kid is sudying in Rustomjee. If you need any contact I can share other than mine, as I have already shared my feedback and I am positive about them.
But if you staying near Hirannandani advice to go for HFS as travelling for kids matter most.
School Timings are afternoon for primary , for secondary school timings will be changed for morning going forward.
thanks a lot again for detailed info
reading your feedback it feels positive and read all the links shared by you
and almost decided on rustumjee as majiwada for staying also convenient.
But school timings unfortunately not suiting me
12:45 - 5:30pm
I am a working mother and leave home by 8:30, so want a morning school..
Will try HFS, Orchids ( sandeep has given lot of positive feed back about it )
as these two schools start in june
