A polished /ICSE/CBSE School in the name of IB school... Only PYP and DP caters to the IB curriculum . In between the curriculum is as comparable to ICSE/CBSE board... (or perhaps they too don't know what are they following as they have named it SIS curriculum, an unsupervised curriculum)In regard to 9th and 10th grade it follows IGCSE board, To make the child further confused 11th and 12th is IB programme... Teachers are not qualified, most of the time they quit school in between. Not at all coordinated for higher classes. Management needs to work hard... They need good coordinators. Been there for two students for much longer and now find it not worth anything... until unless you wish to pay hefty price to get a brand name of 'Symbiosis'... or looking out to get a direct seat in 'Symbiosis college' . Good Luck!

good school good approach and welcoming behavior. teaching is good. infrastructure is improving as compared to lase year.

I like Symbiosis too but not sold completey yet..I have to decide today between this and Vibgyor..SIS is good for you ?? good to know ..I didn't like that the fitness teacher was shouting in the middle of the school while the classes were ongoing..any input..also the cafeteria i integrated how does that work??

My son is going to SIS from more than a year and we are very happy with the progress our son is making. Teachers (at least in current year) know what their responsibilities are in terms of nurturing our children. Overall very structured approach & they keep parents engaged in whats happening in school via weekly few emails etc. PTA not that regular. I think this is one area where this school can improve. I have heard Aman Sethu is another school which has better education philosphy than SIS in this part of pune, I am going to research in next couple of months if it makes sense to change the school at this point.

Here are my opinions about Symbiosis International School. I have two kids in the school (entering 5th and 8th grades) Curriculum - Excellent for KG - 5 and 11 - 12 (IB). TBD for 6th - 8th, a new custom program based on IB goes into effect this year, so we have to wait and see how it goes. Very good for 9 - 10 (IGCSE). Full IB curriculum for KG - 12 was advertised two years ago, but management decided to do IGCSE in 9-10 so that kids have option to go to regular colleges after 10th. That also meant IB MYP program can not be done for 6th - 8th since IB offers MYP certification only if the program is followed from 6th - 10th. This came as an unpleasant surprise for parents who had joined SIS for the complete IB program. Quality of Teaching - Good. They don't have teachers highly in IB, most of the teachers have extensive ICSE/ CBSE experience and all have been trained in IB. Principal has extensive experience with IB, but I think at least few teachers with international and IB experience would be great. I also sometimes worry that kids are not challenged enough. Infrastructure: Okay. It is execellent inside the building. Outdoor sports infrastructure has improved since last year, but still not what it should be for IB school. Parking situation is bad. Fees: Very expensive - Almost 2.5L per year. The PYP fees were increased significantly this year. Management: Experienced in Education industry Parents' Involvement (PTA): Minimal. A PTA is supposed to be start this year, so it might get better. A lot of parents have shifted to Vibgyor this year - I think that's due to hike in Fees, change in curriculum for 6th - 8th and Sports Infrastructure. A greater number of new parents have joined the school, so there is net inflow. For us, SIS is still the best option for now even with all the existing issues
