We live in Pune in the NIBM road area.
I have a 4 year old son, who has had persistent cough for the last few motnhs, which happens usually when he is about to sleep or sometimes when he wakes up during the night. this is sometimes though not always accompanied by cold in the form of a blocked or runny nose.
We have tried out several doctors, but have either found them clueless or just not intersted in finding out what the real problem is. I'm pretty sure we have exhausted docs in the area, but would really appreciate if you could suggest a doctor/hospital that would be able to diagnose the root cause of the problem. I have tried out homeopathy for some time, but not with too much success.
We have been toying with the idea of consulting with a ayurved doc in the area. Has anyone heard of or has any experience with Dr Rahul Gujrathi?
Would appreciate if you left out Dr Raj Ganacharya from your recos. Have tried him more than once and have not been happy.
My daughter sufferered from exactly the same type of symptoms as ur son... My daughter is 2.4yrs old.. Even the doc was fed up of giving her antibiotics (sometimes when the cough use to become really bad).. He made us do all types of blood tests.. The results were sort of normal except for the Ige test which was for the allergy.. So he put her on anti allergics for a month and touchwood she has been fine for the last couple of months.. My paediatrician is Dr. Ravindre Chittal..But ofcourse he is from Mumbai ...
So I think there is nothing to worry as my doc said, it will subside on its own.. He says it happens when kids r going to school at a very young age, their immune system is not very strong so they keep getting allergies...
Hope u find a good doc in Pune...
All the best
hi, my son is now 2.5yrs old. i am very satisfied with his peadiatrician. since his birth this doctor is the only one whom we visit. his speciality is that he doesnot give unneccesary medicinces and specially the antibiotics . he is easily available also.
his name is Dr. Sanjay Bafna, m: 9823005044. he has his own chamber at wanworie , name is Vatsalya Clinic. it is behind the Fatima Nagar Big Bazar. he will guide u the rest.
but truely speaking is am so satisfied with his mode of treatment, and hence i would suggest u to visit him atleast once and then its upto u.
Thanks so much for your response. You are right, perhaps it is a phase when kids are most susceptible to allergies. Another friend of ours said the same. Hopefully this will clear out by the time he's 5.
Thanks for your suggestion. We did visit Dr Bafna a couple of times, but the treatment was never effective, and he did not seem to take too much effort trying to understand the problem, so that was a little disappointing.
I guess connecting with a doctor is a personal thing. I'm glad he is working out for you.
