This is Smita Toyaka who resides in Pune, Maharashtra. We relocated to Pune 1 n half years back and wanted to take admission for my both sons. I believe that we all live in a democratic country and this country all children have the right of education. No where in CBSE norms, it's written that an ADHD child can't be given admission. Our sons admission had been canceled though we had sent them the reports and they had reviewed it. Moreover they had also called the child and examined him and we as parents were blamed of hiding many things. It was a very sad part that the management did not even took the bare minimum responsibility to call us and inform why they were not taking our son.
Iam sorry but this is not the way to deal with any child. I want justice for my son. Necessary action should be taken against the school.
Hello,
So sorry to hear this.
However considering privatisation happened in India for schools, in my opinion, except for government schools no school is bound to give admission to any pupil and also declare "actual" reason for the same.
(Even kids without any problem, get rejected without knowing any reason)
I am currently residing in Germany. Here as well they have separate schools for kids with special needs. That's nowhere with the aim of any discrimination but for the best possible development, comfortable and friendly environment for the child itself.
Nevertheless, it also depends on the gravity of the problem and availability of the resources.
I wish you goodluck and success and moreover peaceful and happy time furtherahead.
