Hi, IAM Chitra from mangalore. I am planning to shift to Pune in March to join my son who already is in MIT Kothrud. I have a 11yrs old daughter for whom I am looking for an admission for the 7th grade. She has done her cbse schooling till now. I am quite skeptical abt schools as my daughter has had a horrible experience of schooling in Mangalore. And due to the things she has had to cope up she is slowly slipping into depression. Hence I am looking at a school which doesn't put any mental pressure on the kid by means of heavy bags, loads of homework and exams. She anyways gets 85-90% always and I want her to enjoy school . As she is very good in literature and writing and music, I am also looking at a school which gives equal opportunity to all those I had visited SRVM, Kalmadi School, MiT Cbse, DPS, but I found them to be quite mechanical in their approach which I didn't like. The approach has to be organic so that kids start loving what they do and are asked to do. Please do advice. IAM really quite worried Please email me at chitrasemail@gmail.com Chitra Arun

I would suggest to try IGCSE schools as these don't give children as much stress as CBSE or ICSE. There is lot of project work and freedon to do things at one's own pace.
I have heard good things about Daffodils, Baner. Teachers in other schools have vouched for a good curriculum, and experienced teachers and child-friendly atmosphere there. Though, campus is bit small and homely. Haven't visited myself.
Avasara Academy, Lavale is a new school, but doing well. It is a girls school, with girls from across different social groups, you can check out their new campus which is complete now.
Both school fees are on the higher side.

Hope you find a good fit for your daughter
