The Sports Activities offered in PICT are good. There are facilities for Swimming, Football, Archery, BasketBall, Badminton, and Table Tennis. Not sure which ones are offered as part of the curriculum and which ones are optional. My kid is still in Jr. Kg. and there are no Sports Activities at this stage.
Regarding Loyola - It is considered one of the best schools in Pune with two caveats - the curriculum offered is of State Board and the school is considered to have a strict admission criterion which takes into account the distance of the applicant student from the school. The last I read, the website mentioned that preference would be given to students residing within 5KM radius from the school campus.

Vikhe Patil is at a higher pegging order (atleast currently). It is much older and much more recognized than any other newer schools. The admission process involves lucky draw. I don't have any first-hand feedback for Vidya Valley but based on the information that I have gathered it is a good option if you are OK with their stricter age criteria for admission.

@bharatp Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks @bharatp. I am visiting them today. Currently this is the only option I am thinking about in this area.

dsnehi 2018-11-28 12:04:11

What is the year wise fee rise ...Also for option sports do we have to pay separately ?Does it have all the affiliations ?Also  with no sports in Jr Kg what is the fee?

rs18 2018-11-29 23:25:22

1 lac excluding transport, uniform, books etc. We visited them recently. Excellent infrastructure. Need some feedback on teachers behaviour and conduct with children. Is it too strict, relaxed and pressure on children from study perspective. Homework? @ bharatp - can you share your experience please?

edulearn 2018-11-30 21:21:57

Do they allow to visit the school?

rs18 2018-11-30 22:23:16

Yes. Call them to take appointment . You have to reach around 3 pm. They address group of parents and answer qyeries. Post that one helper takes group for campus tour.

One question from PICT parents please- is swimming mandatory or optional? We could not understand clearly. Please suggest.

3veni 2018-12-01 14:26:02

We have visited PICT School. Infrastructure is good. Is this school have good teaching staff? Does the School gives equal importance for sports activity for each child? Does the teaching staff gives good response to child? How about spoken English language fluency?

bharatp 2018-12-01 14:46:25

@dsnehi - No separate fees for sports. There was one fee component charged separately (around 3.5K for 30 sessions in a year) for Helen-O-Grady edu-drama program which is compulsory for Jr. Kg. The school is in process of getting CBSE affiliation but don't have one yet.

@rs18 - No clue on whether swimming is compulsory. I think the swimming activity starts from Grade 1 and we are yet to get there :)

@3veni - We are satisfied with what we have experienced so far in terms of teaching staff and teaching methodology. How it pans out for higher grades is yet to be seen. Regarding your question on spoken English language fluency - the language fluency of both the staff and the peer group of our kid within the class is good. The students are supposed to communicate in English when in class.

Thanks @bharatp. Another query I have is for parents pick up and drop. Where do we have to leave child? At security gate or outside admin room? and how they take kids to classrooms? just wondering how pre school children take it initially?

Muddassir 2018-12-03 12:44:43

@lax99 - Rent agreement should do

rs18 2018-12-03 13:20:45

Seems nestling will be managing pre primary now not PICT . How are parents taking it?

dsnehi 2018-12-03 14:14:50

I am also confused What's nestling ? Is it a day care facility? What about 1st std admission then ?

rs18 2018-12-03 15:42:57

check nestling website link from their admission page. from nestling child will goto to grade gradually. But I am surprised/shocked why this was not shared during school visit recently. Many parents attended but none were told about this change and suddenly information appears on application day. transparency with parents is first requirement of a good school. very disappointed.

I also encourage you to read previous PTA MOM on their website. There is information about CBSE affiliation as well. Existing parents may not be sharing all information for the benefit of parents seeking admission. @bharatp - were you not aware of Nestling change? It was discussed in last PTA meeting though as documented in MOM.

lax99 2018-12-03 15:43:57

@mudassir registered or notarised? N what about postpaid mobile bills or vehicle registration certificate? These won't do?

bharatp 2018-12-03 19:27:32

@rs18 I am not a member of PTA and I do not check the MoM's of PTA regularly. In fact, I didn't even know that the MoMs are uploaded on the school's website. Thanks for sharing the info. I read through the MoMs. I also went through the circulars published by the school and found out that the Nestling change was communicated to the parents on 22-Nov. Since I don't go through these circulars I didn't have this info with me.

A few points:
1. Regarding CBSE affiliation: I think whatever is mentioned in the latest MoM is encouraging. Seems like the school is on track to get the affiliation. In either case, I am not personally worried about immediate CBSE affiliation. I think the school will get it in due course of time.
2. Regarding Nestling change: I personally am not worried about the change since the infrastructure, staff, and teaching methodology remains the same. But it would be up to an individual parent to decide how much the change affects their decision to take admission.
3. Regarding your comment on existing parents not sharing all info: I think this is a little harsh comment considering that parents like me are going out of the way and taking out time to help out applicant parents with whatever info we have. I, in my mind, cannot understand why would an existing parent misguide or hide information purposefully. I am a little disappointed that you think this way. Personally, I am not very encouraged now to share any info, opinion, or feedback on this forum.

edulearn 2018-12-03 19:28:21

Last year they told us to "check again next year." Now they say enrollment complete. Also this year security informed about registration at gate. Suddenly we came to know about online form. Pathetic communication!

rs18 2018-12-03 20:46:02

@bharatp please dont take it in wrong way. I was just concerned that this change was not communicated during school visit. This may have raised our confidence in school. Also i assumed that all parents read PTA mom like i do. Sorry abt that. Really appreciate you taking time to help other parents. Some parents i know are confused with cambridge school logo and name on main landing page. There isnt much information or mention of proposed cbse school like other schools. I think communication and clarity of it is a concern. Thanks again for your help.

rs18 2018-12-03 20:46:44

Totally agree

dsnehi 2018-12-03 21:50:07

Yes asked the same question to person on gate I checked website yesterday but no updates that it is an online process To which he replied that it's not updated and smiled For me I see they are in demand so I don't think they worry about all such issues . One of my friend also told me it's been communicated over the email that it's 10 % rise in fee (max) per year I have done the registration let's see what happens next

dsnehi 2018-12-06 10:58:33

Any update ? Have they started calling people for interaction ?

lax99 2018-12-06 12:30:11

Just got an email with fee structure n stuff.no other intimation yet

rs18 2018-12-06 12:42:25

Yes. We also got email only. Do you have clarity on cbse affiliation? Somewhere they have mentioned that they propose cambridge for primary?

dsnehi 2018-12-06 13:39:41

No That I will ask during the interaction session You are talking about the mail with token id password and attachment with fee structure right?

rs18 2018-12-06 14:40:24

yes @dsnehi

lax99 2018-12-06 16:18:28

Hello all...so from the latest update on the website what I understood was that the day we are called for the interaction with principal the same day we'll have to pay up n take a call?Is that so? Or will we get a day or two to decide? Pls enlighten...
