@NeedsEdu
According to your friend, from what aspects is Helena's better than Anne's?
@Don84
Please share some info regarding the entire admission procedure and experience that you encountered at Anne's
My friend herself is from St Mary's, but has cousins who have passed out from St Anne's, and some other friends who are Helena's alumni.
She mentioned that St Annes does not have any facilities, as compared to Helena's. Also she is not entirely sure how the academics are, as she is not particularly impressed by the education imparted to her cousins. It is completely her personal opinion and if you know otherwise please put it on the group.
@ Bikramjit: I was in the same dilemma one year back and from my experience & considering what you are looking for (esp. CBSE Board), I think you should consider DPS as an option. My daughter secured admission there last year and although she joined St. Mary's later, I was impressed with the DPS facilities and the Management.
Hi Everyone, i have been following these threads but never contributed here. i was looking for an admission for my daughter in LKG. i applied for St Mary and St Anne, but she couldn't got shortlisted. Finally she was lucky to get admission in Vikhe Patil Memorial school SB road. I am just curious to know about the selection criteria for St Anne and St Mary. for the Selected candidate, were they preferring the home location near to school? Also, how is Vikhe patil memorial school SB road branch? Any review would be very helpful.
@Jain18- I am not sure if anyone apart from the School management knows the exact criteria however, going by my experience, here are some of the factors that they might be considering :
- Proximity from the school- Since St. Mary's does not have its own transport, this is one of the criteria but not the sole criteria; I used to reside 11 Kms away from St. Mary's when my daughter applied to the school. You just need to convince the teacher/interviewer that you will be able to manage the distance. - Working/ Non-Working Mothers- However controversial this might sound, this is a criteria and I am sure you must have been asked questions around this during the evaluation (again, not the sole criteria). This becomes a strong criteria if you are living in a nuclear family. Probably, they try to ensure that child has someone at home to take care of her post the school hrs. - Child's performance in her last school/ playgroup - Child's performance/ confidence during the evaluation - Education Background of the Parents
Disclaimer- these are just my views and there might be more factors that they consider.
Distance of home from school is not at all the criteria. All Big schools (Like Bishop, Mary, Helena's or Hutching etc) though asked question in the parent interaction during admission process.
But there are many student goes to these schools from Baner, Anudh, Kharadi or from Hadapsar (all have the distance is more than 10 Km).
The selection process is arbitrary, hardly can someone comment on exact criteria that these schools are looking for.
@Bikramjit, nice one...touched by your writing... If you want a cbse school and huge playground, please take a look at aaryans world school, katraj, Just a suggestion. I hope you have done the admission by now...but dont forget to take a look..promising school... Im very happy that my child is studying there, want to make her a sports star, school is taking real efforts for the same. Thanks, Pratik
@Jain18- Congratulations for securing admission at Vikhe Patil Memorial , SB Road. I haven't heard any major concern about this school. I am looking forward to apply for my Son. Do you know which of the following criterion ( apart from previous school Acads ) is important? - Travel Distance/time - Non-working mother - Parents education - Parents financial status - Private/Govt job ... Thanks
Thanks 6184,ManjuD and Satish for your feedback. SatishD, as you asked about the selection criteria for VPMS SB road, i am not much aware about the process. My daughter got the admission through lottery system and there was no interaction sessions with management or teacher.
It was simple & well planed,admission forms were online,& they have given date for interview.on that day they have given date of results,on the day of result i could log in my id & could see the result that my daughter is selected,we get ID & password thr which we can check our form status anytime online.on the day of admission they hv taken original birth certificate.bfore that we had to pay complete fees online (46k),interview was simple,they asked basic inf of parents,& few Qs to child

Hiya,
Does ANYONE heard about shortlisted candidates for Hutchinson Light? As I am waiting for results but haven't heard so far. Please convey me if you gey any updates.
Many Thanks!
Cheers;
Anjali
Thank you for the inputs . I did check their homepage and it seems that DPS will start their admissions for the year 2017-18 from Feb 18, from Class 1.
Though my kid is pretty young at this moment, but seems I have to change base for future consideration. Reason being the distance involved, which is approximately 20 km one way. Just have enquired the team at DPS to know if they have facilities for pick and drop from PCMC zone too.
Hi I am looking admission for my daughter in grade 7. Can you please suggest any CBSE school near Hadapasr or nearby. Most of schools don't have vacant seats in higher classes. Any leads will be greatly appreciated... Thanks
My daughter Harshika got admission in St Mary's. Can you please share your no so that we can get in touch with each other. I am Harshika's mom. Other whose ward is getting admission in St Mary's Nursery please reply with your contact details so that we can be in touch.
@tanu2009 were u able to get any online help/ admission from the school? Any other info will also be very helpful as we are also moving to Pune from USA in September 2017. Thanks.
I heard from a parent (whose child is in Helena's) that for those children who do not get admission in the first list, the school mgmt directly asks their parents how much they are willing to pay as donation.
Can someone confirm whether this is indeed true
