Hello Dundu,

As someone has already suggested, you may need to look at the Pune's geographical Map first.

Kharadi and Hinjewardi are both at opposite end of Pune.

Near Kharadi Area you may try Pawar Public School, Amen Setu, Vikhe Patil (it has two branches in Pune), St Patric, St Arnolds, DPS, Vibgyour, Symbosis International.

Dundu 2010-04-12 09:08:54

 Hi Neeraj

Thank you for your concern, i will surely check out pune map

Dundu 2010-04-12 09:12:25

Anybody know about PODAR SCHOOL, i saw from their site that it has ICSE CBSE AND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL as well as CAMBRIDEGE school ( and present school PRINCIPLE , chennai  referred me this school )

AND, HAVE THEIR BRANCHES IN PUNE - pimpri - chinchwad

Any reviews about this school , PLS SHARE IT HERE

kav 2010-04-12 09:59:09

Hi Dundu,

I visited Podar but they didn't have seat for my son in morning batch and they had only seats in the evening batch for Istd. But the reviews about Podar is not pleasing though i don't have any personal expeerience in it. Cambridge the one in chinchwad is only coming up. and it will take a couple of years to get a review about this school. You can check with them for 6th grade. Please check ur mail for the number i had sent to u couple of days back. She is a right  person to give reviews about different schools in the area  u are searching for.

Hi Ne,

Might want to check out akshara international. It is a school at wakad for cbse curr though it has international in its name. Good school actually. It has a good balance of academics and extracurr. It also has a tieup with the sports stadium at balewadi. I am a happy parent and my child settled down really well when we returned from UK.

All the best.

The statement  "I heard someone telling me our president Partibha patil's daughter is studying there".  - looks confusing.

Hi All,

I am staying in Baner and my daughter is just 19 months old. I know this is very early to talk about schooling for my daughter but  I wanted find out best school for her in Pune basically near Baner area.

From last few days I am going through the reviews related school, admission process etc.. So I have decided to go with Vidya Vally, DAV,Sanskriti, Blue Ridge, V K Patil.( suggest me if anyone know more.)

I think above mentioned schools are quite reputed and I hope my daughter will get admission in one of these schools.

can anyone tell me  which one is the best as educationwise CBSE or ICSE school. cause  as per my researched  syllabuswise the CBSE has a more scientific approach than the ICSE.

and also , let me know the admission process for above mentioned schools.

Milindpapa 2010-12-06 19:04:24

hello Priti,

On school is CBSE and co-ed, on ganeshkhind road, i.e. from University circle to Spicer college on the left hand side.

It is Kendriya Vidyalaya Ganeshkhind.

Milindpapa 2010-12-06 19:10:13

Hello all,

Here nobody is talking about Kendriya Vidyalayas who made term CBSE famous. All KV's there are more than 16 in Pune region.

KV Ganeshkhind is very near to Pashan.but the admission process is same like other schools. Now they also started now admitting  civilian childrens. Earlier it was only for the Defense Kids and kids of central govt undertakings.

but now KV Sangthan (Body which controls all KV's in India) have relaxed the admission norms.

Forms are out after Dec.

  Hi there,

Would appreciate it if someone could give me more info about schools in and around balewadi..We live close to the sports complex, though hardly lived in Pune.

I read reviews abt sapling, akshara international, Orchid ..

Do you think Sapling school would be good enough for a beginner ?

My son is 4 1/2yrs old

Kindly help.

SarikaNaik 2011-12-05 15:02:42

I am located in aundh and looking for a good convent school for my son . hes yet too young for primary school but still i need to start thinking.

I am looking for bishops kind of category of school where the kids are in competetive envirnmnt & bishops boys have an attitude and excellent english , good in acads n sports.

Will bishops be too far for my child ? will I be putting too much stress on him since he has to travel too far?

Please suggest any othr similar school.

Any hi fi school is also fine for me.

Avi30 2012-07-13 15:12:08

 Hi Sarika,

Bishops is fantastic....I am in awe of that school. Two of my brothers are ex-bishopites & I have seen them develop ahead of everyone. Even I wish to put my son there but again the same problem - too far from Kothrud.

I think Vidya Valley is going in a similar direction. Found some good things said about Vikhe Patil in thread, so am also thinking of Vikhe Patil. Millenium & Loyola are also very good but SSC which is the only reason to keep them as a back up!

Ok...one qeustion for everyone. Does it matter much whether we take up ICSE or CBSE?

I studied in SSC so wouldnt be correct for me to comment on it. Can anyone suggest the pros & cons of these 2 boards? After reading the websites, I am more impressed with ICSE but thats all theoretical. Any pratical experiences, please share.....

Avi30 2012-07-23 12:16:42

I really like what u have written. Its very much practical and transperant. Even I wish to get my son in a good CBSE / ICSE school but I wanthim to learn our mother tongue - Marathi! I dont say that he shud take interest in the literature and all but the basic of our mother tongue shud deifnitely be known to the next generation even if they go global in their further careers!

Can u help me with some schools which are CBSE / ICSE boards and teach Marathi atleast for some years? Is it really made compulsary in all CBSE schols to teach the state language? That is one reason I am taking a backfoot for Gurukul School!

Need ur suggestions please. You experience will help us solve our dilema :)

lux 2012-07-24 11:41:30

ICSE is best for those wish to have good writetn skills or more of literature style...many topics are in details....more stress on English

CBSE best for kids gng for competitive exams...
