 Hi All:

We are new to Pune, currently living in Baner. I am looking for a  good play school in the area for my 21 month old son. Also, if there are any mother toddler groups, it would be really nice to interact  with the moms of same age group.

Any feedback would be helpful.

Thanks

Shweta

Hi Shweta,

I too stay in Baner only. There are many playgroups in Baner, but  "Sapling" nursery is very good and but they have only limited seats  to my knowledge.

Ruchi - my  7 month old baby goes to "Sparkles" day care in Baner. I found this very good and they are the only one day care in this area who take kids from 5th month onwards.

HTH,

-Aruna.

 Hi Ruchi!

I stay in Beverly Hills near Pan Card Club, How about you? My Son goes to Podar Jumbo Kids, so far he is loving it and I m pretty happy witth the center. The teachers and the center head are just wonderful! However it is just the play school and the nursery, they have a diffrent day care center under the name Podar Happy Kids you might want to visit their website www.podarhappykids.com or call them and enquire.

I agree with Aruna, Sapling has some really good reviews but they have waiting list.

Good Luck!

Shweta

Welcome to Pune, shweta. I stay near Food Bazaar, Baner and I'm pretty much happy with the Sparkles. I put my son when he was 6 months old and he is now almost 9 month old...and they do have similar age group babies so...he is very happy going there.

i've seen the mother-toddler's group on couple of play schools( Innocent Time, First Five) on Baner road, but i'm not sure to what extent they are really active.

ping me ..we can catch up some time soon.

I agree with Serina, my kids got to Nursery class at Serra International Pre School, Baner and am totally satisfied regarding the curriculum and their Day care. Kids have become very confident, well-informed,  eager learners and smart with their manners. They are loving it and look forward to going to school every day. Am totally relaxed and at ease while they are at school day care. They are taken care of just as a Mom would wish.

Thanks guys for your valuable feedback! We recently moved to Gurgaon but will be back in Pune around summer and  shall definitely check out Serra International then! Preschools are way too diffrent out here in  Gurgaon... Its very very commercial and exorbitantly priced...besides the warmth is missing hence my son is not too fond of it. Where as in Pune he use to look forward to going to school everyday ( Jumbo Kids)

Can't wait to be back!!!

I don't know if my timing was wrong with Serra Baner daycare, coz I was not too impressed.

I visited thr twice, post the briefing session with the principal (which was quite good and we had almost zeroed in on this center).

Day 1 - stayed thr for 2-3 hrs.till the time kids were put to sleep. There was no teacher accompanying the maushis for lunch and sleep. When i asked the PLM (Parents Liason manager) about the day care teacher she said one was absent and the other had left the school recently. So, they were in a kind of shortage. I was till OK as i had found the maushis caring and quite good w.r.t cleaniness.

Day2 - i decided to go in the evening to check out the activities at this time. I reached thr at 4:40-ish and to my surprise thr were no teachers AT ALL!!! There were still some 4-5 kids in the campus. The maushi said the principal had left for some work in teh city and so had the PLM! Now, I dont know if this was actually a one-off case or was a regular. Anyways this busted my confidence big time and now i am really giving this place a second thought :(

Hi,  My kid also goes to Serra Baner, a nursary student.

I am fine with the curriculum and teachings.. but some how i was a bit unsatisfied for their management.. i dont see parent teacher communication, assessment reports, activity sheet circulation on monthly basis.....

Hi all, I have shifted to Pune recently and my boy has just turned 18 months. We are Bengali's..so at home we speak to him in Bengali.. Will this be a concern when I admit him in a playschool?? It would be really nice if we all moms can meet up and form a group.. I have no friends out here and it does get boring at times and my boy is also feeling bored.. So am thinking of putting him to a playgroup where he can enjoy for a while..

tinai 2017-01-03 10:30:40

Hi

We too are bengalis. Are you still in Pune. We will be shifting by this month end. I am looking for a good day care at Baner. My son is 2.5 years old. We dont know much people over there. Kindly refer me some names of good daycare.

Thank you.

Hi there... As of now yes, we are.. you can check learning curve..Baner branch.. they have CCTV and provide good facilities.. they serve freshly made food for the babies. I have heard day care is good but I have not opted for it yet. Also you can check Saplings.. they have online admission procedure on a first come first serve basis.

tinai 2017-01-03 14:58:39

Thank you!!

bliiissful 2017-01-04 15:48:05

hi @tinai and @Sasp... looks like we need a group for Bengali moms :)
On serious note, we have had bit of issues as our child of 4 years used to speak only in Bengali. But once they start mixing around with other kids they will pick up some words and they learn quickly. At home, make sure you start speaking in Hindi or best is English.
We are missing Bengali food here though :(

Sasp 2017-01-04 18:18:24

Hi blissful :), Great idea about forming group..We definitely should ;)... Can't believe after two years the discussion became active!!! You are right... :)... About food... You can try appayan in aundh... I felt price is a bit high but bengali restaurant.. ;) (food is alright.. atleast it was when I had been there once last year)..

tinai 2017-01-30 20:52:25

hi guys (@ sasp and blissful)...I am at Pune now. How about forming that group?!!

rasika37 2017-06-08 11:16:17

Hello everyone...I am new in Pune..can anyone suggest a good school for my 4 year old kid.

Sasp 2017-06-08 20:51:08

@ tinai.... Sure... So how should we form it.. :)

Sasp 2017-06-08 20:53:31

Hi Rasika... Learning Curve is good. They have CCTV surveillance and food provided by the school. Sampling is also a good school. You can check them if they are nearby your place.
