Hi friends
My Son who is now 8 got severe eye allergy in eyes...which included redishness, severe itching in his eyes.I had to took long treatment from sankara marathalli for same...where they gave steroid eye drops too. It worked such that the constant itching and very reddy eyes became fine. But since then i found my sons's eye are generally slightly red on both ends or u can say slight veins are visible.I doubt long term medication has caused this problem and still he does one round of itching specially before going to sleep.Every time near summer that becomes my concern so i am avoiding 25th march - 12 may time in banglore..In 2014 he had it..then 2015 and 2016 summer period i went to delhi to avoid it again.Anyone has got same problem ,or what kind of treatment taken and is there really exist some allergents during summers in banglore which get aggravated. Please guide with some home remedies.

My 4 year old son having eye allergies and he is having difficulty in seeing the lights in the morning. We had consulted 3 doctors and all are sating its due to allergic/infections. We did some research and found that he used to get light sensitivity whenever he gets sick or takes head bath. Now we're still in medication.

Please share, if anyone has any findings.

Homeopathy could help you. Especially allergies.
Always safer, before you can try steroids and other things.not sure how advisable steroids are for such young kids

We've tried homeopathy for a week and i don't see any improvements since the problem comes only after head bath/sick/running nose.

Homeopathy , you need to continue for a longer time to see the results, and they will be long term. Try switching to some other homoeo doctor. Just a thought.

Okay. However it has been prescribed only for a week by the doc.

And i don't see the problem is because of allergies because as i said it happens only after head bath/sick, we're suspecting something else. Not sure what else to do.

hi ganz6, i did not get your point....you are saying its after any sickness ? so it could be some drugs or medicines that cause these allergies... my son is on homeopathy meds from like 20 days.. lets see hoping for the best...but could be possible due to some medicines we give to kids that have this sensitivity.

@Parveez87 We are not under any medication. Yes, it happens only when he takes head-bath or running nose/sick. Hence we are washing his head once in 15 days just like a newborn baby and avoiding things which make him sick. We are following carefully and he is alright now, however he has watery eye for sometime in the morning apart from that he is good. BTW, How is your son?

these days he is ok ok...nt that great..been a month now for homeopathy meds...the cold and cough are under control by the homeopathy meds...even the eye allergy thing is so called under controlled but yet to go fully...I have noticed that he gets itchy eyes only after 7 pm in the evening and he continues to itch till it waters and he goes to sleep..I suppose something is there that I am missing out on

We have almost narrowed down the cause of the issue my son going through for the last 2 years. For the benefit of everyone, am sharing my experience and believe that it can help someone.

Kids who have allergies might have less immune system and hence they shouldn't consume more proteins. We reduced and it shows results for us, now he sees well in the morning and the light sensitivity is gone and there is no pus discharge etc.

hi ganz6, can you please help me understand what are those proteins, what have you reduced in specific, food items? I am sorry for direct questions but i feel we have a similar and a little more help from you will help a lot. please reply.

@Parveez87 - For my kid, he s getting eye allergies when consuming peanuts, groundnuts, cashew nuts and sometime cream biscuits. Our research went like, one day morning we had given him sprouts (one day we tried egg as well beign vegetarian) after sometime he vomited in school. When i googled i found a article saying "high protein foods causes allergies for the one having less immune system". Then we stopped giving additional snacks which has rich proteins like the one mentioned above. Then from the second day on-wards we started to see the changes in him however the power he got in his eyes because of this has not reduced yet.

The changes we see now are no - light sensitivity, pus discharge, difficulty in opening in the morning time.

Hope it helps. Kindly elaborate your problem and i will see where i can add my observations better.

@ganz6 - my son has according to the doctors, allergic rhinitis, so mostly his eyes are itchy and watery in the evening, without any specific reason. what i have figured out is he is allergic to dust , so whenever a slightest dust goes in to his eyes, he starts itching. We are also using dust proof bed covers as suggested by the doc. changed our sofa from linen to rexine, but he still itches his eyes every night.. same time ..i wonder y.. also regarding proteins, Yes my son has an egg for breakfast everyday ..may be that could be the cause (though he itches in the evening or night).

help me find a way out yaar, I am too frustrated with this on going thing..

@parveez87 - As you said, please investigate on the food habits.

However i noticed that you son is getting itching/watery eye only during the evening. Is it ? How can you so strong about it ? If it because of the dust, it can happen anytime during the day. Please think about it.

Does he ever experienced light sensitivity, pus discharge? Does he have power is his eyes ?

On the other side, have you ever tried not exposing him to dust ?  To some extent please try to have him inside your house and just check if the problem persists.
