Though I am not a very strict mother but I am worried about such behaviour.Do teachers look into these things at school?

Since my daughter has started this roots to wings on bannerghetta road-she has become a rogue.being working parents its a big job to get her out of the playgroup & settle her in to another.

This is absolutely normal, they learn it mostly from watching the Drivers of bus or rickshaw, last weekend my 2.9 yr old younger one enacted the complete process of "How to eat Gutka"  while we went on a drive. Ofcourse no mother likes to see them doing that, but slowly if u explain them that spitting is not a good habit etc your kid will understand the point.

its normal..dont worry..though it can be pretty embarrassing to you!! as aarti mentioned, kids learn these things from others. you just have to recondition them.

  • when she spits in front of you, u can simply say its a bad habit (not that she is a bad girl)..focus more on the behavior than on others around who witnessed it.
  • when u go outside, show her how you wait for a proper place if u must spit.
  • read her good habits books and show her how good habits are different from bad habits.

she must be enjoying this newly learnt behavior. dont scold her for it. she will slowly unlearn it. if you focus a lot on this behavior, she may actually re-learn it as a tool to get your attention.
