Hi Group,
I have a concern..pls share your ideas,suggestions.
My Daughter is 5yrs. She has a strong aversion to the smell/taste of toothpaste/tooth powder and shows vomiting tendencies when we brush her teeth.
So, brushing the teeth even with minimal amt of paste will trigger this reaction in her, becasue of which she tries to avoid brushing her teeth in the morng.
She is comfortable brushing her teeth with a brush & salt.
Any tooth paste which will not trigger this kind of a reaction in her is what im looking out for.Checked with a few Doctors, but no solution found yet.
Would appreciate your revert.
Thanks
Manoj
Hi Manoj,
Did you try Kidodent toothpaste meant specially for kids? I use the same for my daughter. This paste does not have strong floride content or smell . May be u can try this and see. You will get in medical shops only.
Rgds,
Mickey
a lot of people show a tendency to vomit when they brush their teeth. if your daughter has watched someone doing this regularly, she might have learned this behavior. if she has tonsil problem, she may not be able to open her mouth fully to brush. hope u r using kids' toothbrush. salt+mustard oil is very good for teeth, but we also want our kids to like toothpastes, as it gives a fresh breath..as mickey suggested, try the kids' toothpastes. colgate and pepsodent also has kiddies toothpastes.
Thanks for your thoughts..
She brushes properly with a kids thoothbrush, using salt. no problem in opening her mouth too.
Don think she has seen some one with a similar problem. Tried the colgate & pepso kids paste. They all have a typical smell which puts her off.
Tried even herbal paste, Dabur, but again similar results.
:-(
Hi Manoj,
Has your daughter liked Kidodent toothpaste ? It tastes like bubblegum. Be with her when she is brushing and help her out which I am sure you must be doing it. Just tell her that this new paste tastes like bubblegum which you see in TV and try to divert her attention while brushing. This should help u out , i think.

Mickey
