Toddler hits everyone

Hi,

My son is now 3 yr old. When he was 2, he used to hit everybody just like you kid. Some take it in an okay way, but at times we feel embarrased:(. But now he is completely ok and loves playing with everyone a lot. I suggest you not to be so much concerned about it. Just you need to protect others from her hitting:) When they grow, they change.

Even my kid has started hitting us and he is 16 months old. I hope its just a phase and he will grow out of it. Sometimes I wonder if its because he inadvertantly watches in tv some ads or some clips in movies which involve hitting others. Since kids mimic many things what they see, it could be a reason..

My Son is 2 yrs and 3 months.He hits/bites/pulls hair,when we stop him from doing something.He even does the samething with his dad.We tried explaining him,but he does listen.I am very upset with this habit.

I am working mother....propbably thats the reason for this behaviour......I dont know how to tackle this situation.

Try distracting them when they do this. It could be because of any of the reasons

1) They are tired/sleepy/bored/hungry and do not know to to express it.

2) They want your attention

3) They are mimicking someone/something else as stated by NJ.

Tell them it is a bad habit when they do it. Distract them and pay attention to them. Play with them for some time till they forget about it. My daughter does it when she feels very sleepy and gets cranky. Immediate attention and distraction has always helped.
