Hello PR
My daughter will be 3 by this november and she has also same condition like your son had. She speaks in 3-4 words sentences but not approapriately sometimes. She connects eyes properly, properly indentifies objects even if pointed, follows instructions like bring this or put this or colour this. Good in learning. She remembers all she learns but does not remember what she did few minutes before. She answers my questions but sometimes she repeats me. I think she lags focusing. Still not potty or pee trained though she calls me when she soils her pants with potty or pee. She can eat by herself.
Another problem is she becomes very irritated if any one except parents and grand parents tries to touch her. She scaresto cut her hair. She has no problem with light or sound. She does not repeat what she is playing or saying. But not interactive with other kids. Currently we are staying in ukraine and she started to go to a ukrainian play school two months back. She plays there but mostly indivisually. Does not recall what she did there or with whom she plays. Sometimes she speaks to herself with some nonsence topics. We are inly indian family here and she never got any social gathering. I am really worried for her. Next week we are shifting to india to see if she will progress. Do i need to asses her?

Hi pr18

Its been already one year. How is your son? But honestly i do not feel he is autistic since he has started speaking by himself though its late. I think you should give him more space and time to grow up. Every single child has his own pace of growth.

Hello sen87

See a good pediatric and ask for a good diet for him. How about his screen time? How long he watches tv and mobile? Try to stop them all and give him loads of activities like colouring, puzzles. He is not even two so judging him will be too early. How about his speech and eye contact?

Hi mkonar1, For the past 2 months we had not given mobile and TV. during this time he had improved a lot. Earlier he had poor eye contact. But after switched off the TV and mobile he has very good eye contact. He was babling until 13th months. after that he had watched too much of TV. During that time we had noticed the babling had stopped and become zero speech. We worried a lot. We had switched of the TV and now he had improved a lot. His eye contact is very good now and started babling now. But there is no meaning full word yet.

Relax and do not panic. I completely understand your tension. I have read somewhere that we should give as much as time to our kids. Talk to him as much as you can. Let him talk meaningless you will rectify him. Talk to him with proper eye contact. Take him outside. More over send him to a playschool you will find the difference.

Hello all, If I could tell my sisters/brothers one thing it is to switch off all gadgets.absolutely no cartoons, videos. My son is nearing 3.7 and has still got speech delay ,hyperactivity, anxiety issues .we are going for therapies but the biggest improvement we saw was when we switched off screens. Just two things ..no screens and oppurtunity to interact (even if it is just listening to parents talk) will do wonders for child.
