Can anybody please let me know the minimum age required to get admitted in Hiranandani Foundation school? My son was born in March 2010. Will he be eligible for the nursery class in the 2013-14 session. I stay in Powai, but outside Hiranandani..Will my son be given less preference?
I will be grateful to anyone who has the info and can help me out . Thanks a lot!
Its sad..I am not getting any replies!!
Am not 100% sure but i think your child should be eligible for nursery in 2013 - 14.
If you are living outside Hiranandani, then try connecting with them through some reference. Also try Bombay Scottish at Raheja Vihar. Another school i would recommend is Vibgyor at Goregaon, though a bit far still worth it plus they have school bus from Chandivali / Powai. Also the Nahar School should also be ready by then where a good brand name is supposed to come up.
Thanks a lot Aloka for the response… I am not sure about Bombay Scottish having a nursery since I’ve heard it starts from Jr KG…Is the Nahar School under construction at present?Any idea about the details whether it is CBSE/ICSE?.
You are right that Bombay Scottish does not have nursery. Further, the Nahar school is still under construction but work seems to be progressing fast.
No idea if the school will be CBSE or ICSE but its was marketed as an "International school".
You can also check out SM shetty's IB and Gopal sharma (ICSE) Two of my friends are happy with SM shetty's IB, and feedback from one of the tution teachers around Powai is that Gopal sharma's teachers are decent, level of education is also good. Though I havent spoken to anyone on this subject. When I went to chk for my own child about 4 yrs ago, I found the school very drab and dusty. Maybe things have changed since then. You will have to go and see for yourself.
Another option is Prime academy (but my experience with them wasn't great) check my feedback in another thread. But still, I would advice you to go see for yourself and decide based on your judgement.
Another good school in Powai is Vivero International(only till Sr kg though) My friend has admitted her kid in nursert and is very very happy with the school. Its far more expensive (rs. 1.2 lac for the year for nursery)
If you are willing to let your child travel to Shere-Punjab, theres a school by name Tridha. They have a very different learning pattern and parents/kids are very satisfied. I dont know whether they have a bus service till Powai though, you will have to go and check for yourself.
Have heard Nahar building is not yet ready and will not be for another year and they are deferring admissions to June-2014. So pls be careful, Pawar public school had similar issues last year. HFS and Bombay scottish are very arrogant and deal in a high handed manner.
Poddar, Garodia are 2 more options in IB..supposedly expensive but good..no harm in checking out. I didnt, so i cant say anything with conviction.
All the best..and dont worry, something will work out and incase you dont get a school of your choice this year, you can try again in Jr kg. Admissions from Grade-2 get difficult.
You can check on Universal School Ghatkopar, its a IGSCE school & one of the best International schools in suburbs.
My daughter studies there & I am happy with her progress.
I recommend it.
how is pawar public school
Iam looking to evaluate schools in the lake Homes, Powai area and looking for International schools. Is SM Shetty the only IB school in the area? Also, do they have classes only uptil 7th Grade?
Out of SM Shetty, Bombay Scottish and Hiranandani - which one would you recommend. My son will be 5.5 years old by next June so I am hoping to enroll him in Class 1.
am very confused between pps chandivali and Gopal sharma.
Any information will be of a great value to me
