some children can write as fast as they can create in their minds, while some cannot.
creative thinking and writing can be then 2 different things for them.
to develop and enhance her creative thinking you may ask her to tape her stories or you may write for her. to develop her creative writing, she may write sentences/small paragraphs based on themes/situations/topics given.
Another way is to allow her to type the stories in computer and make e-books if she is not willing to write. That might help her to a certain extent.
My son comes up with interesting poems and stories. He is 10 years. I wanted to get some of his poems/stories published just to encourage him.
Padmajaps: you may try monthly or bi-monthly magazines for children. my worry is that the chances of getting a write-up accepted and published are very low, as the publishers get thousands of requests. and this can be taken as a rejection by the child. it may discourage the child.
i personally would prefer putting up a blog for all the creative writings, sharing the blog on facebook, showing the 'likes' and comments to the child.
you can always keep trying to publish the write-ups in magazines and give a surprise to your child when something gets selected.
best wishes :)
My younger son is in 6th sts. He speaks good english. But when it comes to creative writing he is not able express himself well. When he writes no punctuation marks also. I want him to improve on this and his Vocabulary too. We stay in Indiranagar. Could u suggest someone around my place who could help. Thanks, Gowri
You could encourage creative writing by making them do mind maps and then building it into creative writing.
