My 8 year old son lies a lot. Everytime we tell him not to do so but  he always cooks stories and hides his mistaks. We even told him, to tell the truth and we will not scold or rebuke you  but he repeates the same mistake again. Please help. Need some constructive suggestions from learned parents.

Thanks

Bhim

Try "What do you really want for your children" by Dr.Wayne Dyer. It is heavy, but full of practical tips too.

telling lies is something that kids learn from their surroundings. most of the times its learnt from or because of parents. in few cases, its also learnt from friends. difficult to guide you online..u can read the book mentioned by apar-sai..Dr wayne is excellent ..another one 'discipline without shouting and spanking'- by wyckoff and barbara is also a very nice book with handy tips

Thanks Anchal and Apar_Sai both for your valuable inputs. I will read the recommended books. I tend to agree with Aanchal "most of the times its learnt or because of parent". So first we need to set examples.

Thanks

Bhim
