I am a father of a 7 year old, who was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 3, earlier we consulted a Dr (pediatrician) who recommended us some habit forming drugs, i discontinued that, and shifted to ayurvedic medicine (Himalaya) it works also. Now after 3 years i just discontinued it, everything was normal, schools were closed due to lockdown, he was studying at home and was doing well( atleast for me), but now again when school started, the scene just completely changed, teacher started complaining about his adamant behaviour and his not willing to listen and write anything on his notebooks, they were saying that he is good in performing dance, acting and activities, but not willing to write anything. Now once again I came to that point, from where I just started 4 years ago. I am just waiting for someone who can guide me so to help me from this situation,so that I can help my child

Having a tough time getting my 6 year old son do home work.
He is very lazy and not interested to do his home work.Need to sit near him and push him to get the work done. Even for moving to the next page, need to push him. At school and tuition, we are getting complaints like he is getting easily distracted and doesn't follow the class.
Really not sure where our future is heading. He has no issues talking and expressing his thoughts. However at times he is inactive, lazy. From the time he wakes up in the morning, we need to push him for everything like brushing teeth, drink milk, go to bathroom etc.

While going out in car or places he likes, he is really talkative and active! He picks and chooses people. For example, he likes talking to his cousin and very active while talking to him and even to his grand mother. Even to them every now and then he loses track and becomes inactive or does dreaming all of a sudden.
He keeps singing to himself over the coarse of the day. While singing if he call out his name, he responds immediately.
With all these symptoms we feel he is in the mild state. Really confused. Every day is a challenge. He can ride bi-cycle on his own and likes swimming. He always pulls me to the swimming pool. However he doesn't interact much with other kids in the play area.

We are really in a state of confusion. And thinking a lot about the 2nd kid. time is running away and we are in a state of depression. please help and share your thoughts

Hi,
Please get your son evaluated immediately and follow doctors advice. Yes as @123bhavi said NIMHANS bangalore is excellent for child psychiatry. we too visited. CMC vellore is also good. Where do u stay by the way? so that i can suggest u even better
Do not jump to conclusions.

Stop worrying first, I can understand ur concern. Hire a special educator for home tution. They handle well.

Also i suggest not to use any medication. therapies help ...do not rely on medication.

Patience is the key.

Good luck.

hi,
First they evaluate the child. After assessment they will suggest what has to be done. Cant say about ABA now. They have 21 days program where u along with the child can stay there. We were told about that but due to some reasons we did not stay. As i stay in HYD they suggested Doctor here only. But trust me NIMHANS is really good.
Take care

Don't rush up for any medication please. Every time i say only one thing . Patience is the key. Mother is the best medicine.
Consult a child psychologist, Special educator. Follow the routine accordingly. Adopt a structured routine.
Take care of yourself also. My son is 15 year old now. With the continous effort he has improved alot.
If u stay in HYD i suggest u visit NIEPID (NIMH).
