Sites appropriate for 9 year olds

Dear friends,

My daughter recently got to hear about the site www.clubpenguin.com and has requested me to register her in the site - it looks like a site with some games.  Any experience here?  Also, what other sites would you recommend for children of this age - i would prefer something which is not just games but little bit informative while being fun to browse.

    There many sites available,my daughter is 7 yrs old,we have been using the sites regularly ,they are www.nickjr.com,www.pbskids.com,these bothh are not only good for playing but there are many activities even.

 Hi, If you search on google, there are a lot of sites that also describe fun activities and crafts that you and your daughter can engage in together.

e.g.http://unplugyourkids.com/unplugged-project/

there are a lot of interesting activities posted. See if you may want to do them. I find them useful in trying to spend more time with my kid as otherwise the time is taken up by TV and computer.

 ixl.com is good too for maths.....My kid has used clubpenguin....but nothing  educational in it.
