Confussion on selection of the right Board for studying-SSC/CBSE/ICSE

Am a mother of 2 children aged 9 and 5. Both r studying in SSC board. But I wanted to know the difference in the syllabus, the teaching pattern etc for all the boards. There is such a hype in choosing the Board for studies recently so am a bit confused.

Would be glad if could get the details .
