Good Indian authored books for 8year old girl

My friend has a daughter who is 8 years old living in UK. I am tired of gifting her ghagras and art/craft stuff. Can anyone suggest good books by Indian authors for her age which shewill like and  might not get in UK? or any other ideas to gift her?
