Using the idiot box to babysit...

I have an active 7 year old...plenty of after school activities. On Sundays we check out if there are any special activities going on for kids in the city. However there are spots of time when there is just nothing to do...and I have to catch up on work. As a rule we don't watch TV. I even suspended my TV subscription and we never really missed it. Recently I renewed my  subscribtion to TataSky. Any suggestions on good, catchy, entertaining as well as educational programmes to record so that we can play back on such days..
