Do we need to be Stricts with 8 year old son?

discipline is something that comes from very early age..it need not wait for 8 years to start..also, u need to be clear in your mind what discipline means..most of us think that discipline is equal to punishment..instead, to discpline is to teach the child right from wrong without making the child feel sad, scared, embarrassed or ashamed..various forms of punishment to stop a wrong behavior are deprivation, threat, isolation, embarassment, insult, physical abuse, etc..as long as you are not punishing your kid, go ahead with discipline without further delay :)

Mostly Kids behaviors at young age are derived from their Parents behaviors..They start learning from their Parents and near environment..regardless of age we can start reinforcing good disciplines...in a friendly manner.

Thanks for your reply. I had gone through your reply. I like to say onething here. Upto the age of 8 years, kids should be given LOVE only.. 8-14 year is the age for them to learn. This is what i heard and i implimented.

Age does play a very very important role. We can't go on teaching to 2 year or 3 year old kid... That's their age where being parents we are suppose to give them love. I am having reasons for what i am saying and why we should not inforce anything to them before the age of 8 year.
