How to make a kid learn reading?

  Hello all,

My daughter is almost 6 years old and studying in CBSE - Class 1 right now. She is not able to read efficiently. I would say that is not her fault. No extensive phonetics classes were taken when she was in UKG and even now the teachers are straight away jumping to teaching complex words without covering the essentials. For example, she does not know how to pronounce words with 'sh', 'gr', 'fr', 'pl' etc. She has not learnt it yet, so, I can't expect her to know that. I am worried that she will not be able to learn any subject efficiently unless she learns how to read her stuff. I am quite sure that phonetics is not covered in any of the Indian schools extensively.

I tried looking for online resources to teach her myself, but, could not find any. Does any one have any material, website or any other resources to share with me to help my kid learn? I am ready to buy any book, DVD etc you recommend.
