my daughter is 6 yrs she is very much confused about b,p,d and pand q and c and o why ?how to tackle this problem.
On priority, please consult a psychologist for this to take an opinion. Of course, through proper care, this issue can be resolved. However, the parents need to spend more and more time and take care of the child and this could be a bit lengthy process.
it sounds like 'mirroring'...the child with this problem looks at the letter like it's mirror image..it may be a simple or a complex issue, depending upon how the child is doing in other areas..if yr daughter is otherwise not getting confused with numbers (6 and 9, 12 and 21 etc), if she is able to draw / color well, if she is good at arranging clothes, laying dishes, lining up bottles etc, then this mirroring of alphabets is not to worry about much..she requires some guidance on differentiation and lots of practice of the same..coach her on the concept of lines, rounds and and what comes before what in each letter..stick to one alphabet at a time..she is already confused with the letters, so refrain from teaching them together..sand paper letters and wooden stencils help a lot in this type of problem..adopt multi-sensory methods like tracing the letter, writing it, drawing it, sand-brushing it, or 'making' the letters using chalk-dust, clay, sand, wool or pulses( one by one for each letter u target.)
it will help
