Dear members,

I'm going to admit my son(6yrs) in class I. Right now my son is studying at St Thomas' High School, Howrah, this year selected at kvballygunge & kvfortwilliam. But I'm much much confused reg. selection of ICSE / CBSE & specially reg. teaching at KV schools of Kolkata. I've only one child, very calm but efficient  in nature. Pls guide.

If you have already put your child in any school, you must have got answer. In my opinion, in Kolkata, ICSE board is more popular for some obvious reasons, but on All india basis, the best schools are under CBSE board. Either of these boards are OK if you have got a good school. ICSE Board is more traditional and considered to be tough but CBSE board produces more IITians, etc. KVs are generally on an average side though there are some exceptions. The confidence level of an average child of KV is at lower side, so I would suggest you to put your child in a good convent school for smart overall development.
