@Priyanka - You cannot easily control high-appetite with Sizodon (Risiperdone) resulting weight-gain. However, rashes and stuffy-nose are first-hand reactions and goes after 2 weeks. Every medicine is approved by FDA under certain treatment-plan conditions that was being followed and successful in clinical-trials phrase.

You can read FDA Label of Sizodon (Risiperdone) here:,020588s044,021346s033,021444s03lbl.pdf

PS: Read the sections "Irritability associated with autistic disorder" which will give more information on patient-safety and recommended dose guidelines.

I am the father of a nonverbal daughter who is now 5 years and 6 months. She was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 2. Since then, I have seen a number of doctors including neurologists, developmental specialists and psychologists. Though I am from Bangladesh, still I have consulted Dr Deepak Gupta from Delhi and Dr Diptanshu Das from INK. However, we could progress very little as she still remained nonverbal. She looks and behaves quite normal, not aggressive but does not take/understand the commands. Every time we meet a new doctor or a therapist they become hopefull seeing her but in the last few years, progress is insignificant. presently she is attending a special school named Proyash at Dhaka. Besides, she participates 08 speech and 08 occupational therapy session per month.
I am from Dhaka, Bangladesh and planning to visit Kolkata for 10-15 days on September 19. I intend to get some guidelines and practical tips which I can follow at home and direct therapists at Dhaka to follow as a broad guideline. I may again come back after 3/4 months. Can you please suggest me someone who will be good for this? O
ne of my close friends suggested Bidisha Saha from INK and Subrata Das from Speech Plus. Will they be good? Do you have any other suggestion for me? May be about the treatment plan or therapeutic direction or maybe anything you feel needed.
I am eagerly waiting for you prudent guidance and that means a lot for me.

@kolcb: can you please tell me wheather concerta is more effective than inspiral or not? As far I know Concerta works around around 10 hours and it is very expensive.

TBasu 2019-08-25 12:05:02

@kolcb : thanks for your detailed description. Highly appreciate your help. The reason i am asking this. My son has Combined adhd with impulsive++. We consulted 1st Dr. JAI ram who gave attentrol which did not suit on my son as he feels very drowsy . Then we consulted Dr. Anirban Roy and Dr. Debanjan Pan. My son is taking inspiral sr 20 once daily before going to school. Since last 6 months we are consulting Dr. Debanjan Pan. on our last consultation Dr. Pan suggested once my son will cross 6 years age. He will probably start with concerta . Which is very effective international brand and works for long hour. Allthough i am doing lot of google and reading article over concerta . But still the way you explained me about medicine is really helpful. Thank you once again.

Hi My son was diagnosed with mild autism when he was 3.5years old...he has gone through various therapies like speech therapy, occupational therapy since then..Now he's only going for speech therapy with Mainak Santra at Speechplus. I discontinued his occupational therapy as he had become a lot calmer and was also focused on his studies. But of late he has become extremely restless. When he goes out with me he tries to kick people. Even when.I scold him for this the effects are temporary. Mainak Santra has suggested a psychometric test to be done at Speechplus. My question is, is Rajabajar Science College a better option to get this test done? How do I go about this? Please suggest as I want to get this done as soon as possible. What would you suggest for his restlessness?

paromita1810 2019-09-05 11:23:08

Thanks @Tbasu. What is the cost of this test if I get it done from her? Where is she based?

lucky78 2019-09-05 15:27:59

@ paromita, I think this type of behavior may be due to attention seeking and may be also to avoid something. Every behavior must be some reasons and nothing is without any reasons. We should watch closely the behavior and also the situation before the behavior and how the behavior subsides, I mean whether it goes automatically or it increases with attention to that behavior. You yourself can assess the reason and only after correct assessment of reason the treatment may be followed. No one can help you without knowing the reason of the behavior. This is my personal view. I have also faced so much of behavioral issues with my son which were solved only through proper assessment by ourselves.

paromita1810 2019-09-05 18:20:46

@lucky78..ur right..bcoz he does not do this all the time..He's settled and attentive in school which means this behavior is definitely for some reason.

paromita1810 2019-09-05 18:25:06

@KolCB thank you so much....I will definitely try the suggestions ...simply writing in this forum eases most of the stress ˜

Hi everyone. I need some advice for my 8 yr old son. He was diagnosed as mild to moderate on spectrum at the age of 3 yr. Since then he has undergone through various therapies like speech therapy., OT, Spl Education etc. We have been benefitted from all these but last year he developed some anxiety and depression appears to be due to pressure of rushing for everything like speech, spl education etc. From early childhood he never shown any interest towards studies. He had also lots of behavioral issues like running here and there whenever we go out from home, aggression and defiant behavior , throwing objects out of Windows and so on. We were exhausted managing those behaviours. Due to last year's episode of anxiety and depression we met with a lot of psychiatrist and psychologis but no one could help us. With medicines his anger increased and he also developed some self heating and self injurious behaviours. But of late we stopped all the medicines and tried to manage his behavior by our own by analyzing the reasons and now 90% of behavioral issues are manageable. But he has still some sort of defiance behaviours. He has speech but small sentence and only need based and some questions and answers. He doesn't want to study and doesn't sit at school. Except studies he is cool and calm now comparatively . I could not understand if he has some intellectual disability or he has no interest in studies. He is in class 1. He does not understands simple additions and also have problems in spellings. He doesn't pay attention to any studies and simple say I don't want to study. If pressurized he became aggressive and rhrows bad tantrums. I just want advice from you what should I do to grow his interest in studies and engage him in studies. Also how to know if his inability is due to inattention or if there is any intellectual problems. Sorry for the lengthy post. Thank you.
