This rating is for the hostel maintenance at present Q2 2018.
The water served is heavily chlorinated. Requested for providing bottled/canned water for the students is met with mockery. The hostel warden says that parents/students should be free to manage it themselves. Consolation apparently is that the staff are drinking same water. When asked if this could be taken as feedback to the management - the suggestion met with indifference.
No food stall to help the students over a long period of time. The live kitchen apparently not allowed by the CBSE rules. So the lack of live kitchen is understandable. But not sure why the management doesnt give consideration to the food stall option. Track two conversations reveal that the Management and vendor couldnt end in mutually profitable venture. Hence the issue became non-issue for management.
No followups from the hostel to purchase the prescribed books for the academic year. This even though the warden is having a allocation from the parents to make important purchases for the studies.
Overall good standard of teaching, class 8.
The school collects a non-refundable cash deposit of 40k.
No pleas are considered, at all, if u want it back come what may.
Painful experience as we had to shift to Bangalore in one year.
full marks for lessons learnt.
My advice to all - DON'T JOIN YOUR KID IN THIS SCHOOL. Teachers till 1st standard are really great and took care of my kid very well. But, from the year he moved to 2nd and next standards, the situation changed a lot. Teachers are always frustrated, no responsibilities taken. Each section will have almost 40 students and that is a hell. No individual attention would be given(not even at-least a month). Teachers dont really care even if the kid eats his lunch or not. To add to this, the head mistress - the worst of all - Caroline. SHE IS ILL MANNERED AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ISSUES OF PARENTS. She always pushes back to parents what ever we discuss. She is the worst of her kind. She doesn't leave kids as well. She insults them a lot. My kid faced it many a times. She even says that children in the class are WORST students. The school is good till 1st standard. If you feel money is more important than your kid, then this is the best school for you. All the Best. I am repeating again, don't join the kid in this school
In CBSE PLUS two Curriculam Vikas is the best, but don't join in Bi.P.C cause there concentration is very poor, I am the parent of MPC student, the teachers had taken utmost care about each and every student, They are also giving integrated coaching, I heard that Bi.P.C is not having good teachers, According to them they have to depend upon Tutors. So if you want to take admission in Plus one MPC VIKAS is the best.
the vikas school is good compare to others and fees not that much expanses reasonable, building structure ,canteen ,play ground is good, strength of students seems too much they need to control,my 2 kids shifted from malaysia last year feels worth it,
I was also looking for schools in and around kukatpally , nizampet and miyapur. These are the schools we saw / researched about:
Sentia - IB , high fees , not many good reviews heard
Kennedy Global - CBSE - Fees 1 lac plus excellent ambience , playground , neatness , extra curriculur activities , but study wise and standard wise they do not have a ood reputation
Silver Oaks - IB curriculum - Fees 1 lac again , Good space as per grounds and ambience , however its activity based learning in primary and in secondary it is proper curriculum
Oakridge - Hi fi school , too much fees , no good reputation
DAV - Good reputation, but very vasic standards
Sanghamitra - No admissions available , i guess we need recommendation to get in
CastleTown - nursery to tenth .. small school
Maples - Not very good
Raos Institute - Very good studies , but no extra curriculars
Genesis - IB again and 1 lac plus fees , no good reviews heard
Geetanjali - primary program for activity based learning , which i did not want
Triveni - AC rooms , high fees , no good studies heard from friends and neighbours
St.Anns - class strength is more than 50
Vignan - Good education , cheap on pocket , but class size for UKG itself was 50
Vikas The concept school - CBSE school, Good ambience , good play grounds , friendly atmosphere , reasonable fees and admision fees total first year cost 50K , cleanliness visible , admissions available , stress free education heard. class strength for UKG 24 and higher classes max 36. location miya pur bachupally - My selection.
The creek - IB , high fees , not many reviews heard
Academic Heights - Friends kids studies there , fees reasonable, studies ok
Sancta Maria - heard some good review from this forum , but far from kukatpally.
I guess for a good school :
1. Reasonable fees
2. Good space
3. Friendly atmosphere
4. Class strenghth should be less
5. Provision for e-learning , smart boards
6. Transport
7. Reputation
8. Years in running
9. Curriculum followed
10. Website and prospectus
I found all these factors in Vikas. So my choice would be it.
However after studying there for a fews years my kid might be able to provide me with better information.
I was basically looking for a school for my kid in and around kukatpally. I have shortlisted Vikas, Silver Oaks and Kennedy. Here is my analysis so far.
Kennedy : Good infrastructure, extra curricular activities, better care taker to student ratio than other two. Expensive and seem to have the environmental effect of surrounding pharma companies. I could smell when I went to their swimming pool however when I am inside the school it was okay.
Silver oaks : Has got very good infrastructure, teaching staff and seem to be providing a lot of activities to children. Has earned good reputation and seem to be the first choice for most of the parents in Kukatpally, Miyapur and Nizampet. Risk is the school is being ramped up and parents may have to get ready for unreasonable fee hikes in the coming years.
Vikas : Matches very well with Kennedy and Silver Oaks with respect to infrastructure. My gut feeling is this school is better in terms of education than the other two but may lag behind when it comes to activities. But the school is so well organized and even the students seems very disciplined. Less expensive than Kennedy and silver oaks and am sure you will get more than what you pay.
Vikas and Kennedy are slightly lenient with respect to child's age compared to all other schools.
My verdict - heart says Vikas but silver oaks is the public choice.
