Hi ,

After reading many posts in the parentree, I thought it would be helpfull for all the hyderabad-parents, if we have a seperate thread schoolwise, so that the reviews can be grouped together.

I would like to start new thread to talk about sentia school. I recently joined my kid in sentia school.

> There is no donation/Admission fee

> 40k is the fee for Nursery.

> Good playground

mickey 2011-02-15 15:35:13

Good Idea Giri. There are separate threads for so many schools in PT  but still we get to see new threads everytime. The new members are unable to locate in the beginning and  start a new thread instead  If i get to see any query about Sentia Ii will surely  direct the parents to this discussion thread.

It would be better if you could share more about this school in terms of academics, infrastructure, extra-curricular activities , student:teacher ratio , hygiene ,  PTMs , teachers , transport , kids behaviour  , fees  and keep the info updated so that it might be useful for other parents and  they could continue their discussion in this thread.

Hi, I re-located to HYD from US and this city being new to me am looking for some help out here. My son will be going to Standard 3. I have taken a flat in malaysian township so considering these have a few qns -

1. Is this school very far from Malaysian Township

2. Do they have enough teachers and how is their quality?

3. How do kids from US ways of schooling cope to the teaching style in this school?

4. Are there any recurring fees not told upfront?

5. Do they have good extra curricular activities?

Hi Giri,

I am looking for an admission for my daughter into 5th standard. I have gone through few reviews on parentree about Sentia but want to know more about this school. can you also help me find out if they are still giving admission forms for 5th standard?

 Former member 2011-02-15 16:29:51

hi spider,

yes, they are giving admissions for 5th stand.  fee is 60k per annum.

For me both play-ground and acadamic activities are equally important.

When I was looking for schools near by JNTU, I considered Maridian and sentia (schools which has nursery). I got good reviews about these two schools.

I preferred Sentia b'cos it has good play-ground than maridian (kukatpally).

Spider 2011-02-15 17:18:08

Thanks Giri for your prompt response. What is the admission fee? Is this 60K inclusive of transport and food?

 Former member 2011-02-17 10:28:07

No ...its only the school fee.

 Former member 2011-02-17 10:37:47

There is NO donation No admission fee in the school.

The fee 60k is only school fee.  (doesn't include transportaion, food, school bag books ....etc)

 Former member 2011-03-10 11:42:50

I got message from sentia school that they are starting the classes from Mar,28th for 2011-12 accadamic year.

 Hi all,

I just want to write my feedback on sentia.

My kid is in nursery, started going to this school from jun,13th.

She is happily going to the school and singing rhymes at home. Last year she was going to other playschool where everyday she was saying that the work sheets are done by her teacher and she was not happy there. This year I can see clear difference in her. Everyday she is learning something in the school.

The staff is also responding well to my queries and suggestions.  As of now I am happy and have NO compliants about sentia.

Saimohan 2011-07-29 13:42:35

Thanks to all for the reviews on Sentia.

But the reviews are more towards Preprimary.

Did any one can provide their reviews for primiary especially for 1st class.

thuhina 2011-12-22 21:09:20

I am currently in US. Thinking about admitting my son  in sentia for grade 1.

Wish to know from parents who have put their child in sentia returning from US.

Hows the syllabus? hows the communication skill of teachers?. Will the transitioin be easy for kids in this school?

nani02 2012-01-23 14:22:39

I am planning put my child in sentia. But the reviews are really confused me. Could anyone who joined their kids into this school write the review on this school, especially from higher sections.

Though my kid in 1 class now, as I am thinking to continue her to till 10th in one school, I am thinking again and again before joining her.

1. How about studies/ are the teachers are qualified? I observed in few schools where teachers are excellent in communication but not that great in teaching.

2. about extra ativities

3.  fee hikes.

Thanks in advance

Oskar77721 2012-02-26 21:32:13

I recommend sentia, my kids are very happy, with their teachers.I have interacted with them in several occasions, and they have good communication skills.

They have ample playground and various activities, my kids frequently participate in all the activities and were awarded with many certificates. The school really pays attention to make sure all the kids are involved in some or the other activity.

For the  last 5years, i.e since the school began, there was no fee hike till date.

Hi Mickey and others

Does anybody have an idea of how many class X batches have passed out from sentia? I saw in this thread [http://www.parentree.in/pujji/journal-8988/Sentia-the-global-school.html] that the school was established very recently. So wondering on this. And what was the overall performance of the batches passed.

Thanks for your reply.

mickey 2013-05-11 10:15:53

Hi Saurav, It must be one or two..  I am not sure... pl check with the school...

reshu18 2013-08-12 17:44:54

Sentia is a good school. If you are staying near Miyapur, prefer CBSE, looking for organized activities this one is for you. ofcourse the infrastructure is good.

This is my son's second year( 2nd grade) at school and we ( me and my husband ) have no issues about it. Whenver I think of something that this should be regulated or could have done this way, the next session it is done. I had never gone to the school for complaints. My son is very sincere and tells me most of the things. so it is not lack of communication.

The best part is their academic calendar, it is set a year ahead. we can plan it all. nO tests, contest or events are rescheduled. They follow the plans. All the reminders adn circulars are send way in advance. the portion, syllabus everything. Their tests, FAs are spread over a month. all tuesdays written and fridays, oral. so it comes in  a routine. suddenly a week is not blocked and a child is not harrassed.

The CCAs are well planned.

I felt the ayyamahs and drivers too to be responsible. The kids boarding the bus, seating etc all are fine. The buses are good and the ACs are on.

All my notes in the diary have been responded immediately.

I read in one of the poists that if the food is missed they do not have any option. Actually, once when my son's lunch was a lil late, the class teacher took him to canteen and fed her. so it also depends upon the teacher.

I am pretty fine with it.

Also, since I have changed more than a dozen school all over India myself as a student. from convents to KVs and Army schools. I was very careful in selecting a school.

The Best part is they do not have fancy, mindless activities whcich I have found in many other schools. Till date i have never bought any costum ewhich is useless. for events theyhave asked for either jeans, white shirts, red t- shirt. I mean, What else cna we ask for.I ahve spend thousand on kids costumes when they were in PPs.

I zeroed down on the school after two years of research.

I hope it remains the same.

reshu18 2013-08-12 17:49:06

the school was established in 2008

trvajjala 2015-01-08 11:05:46

yesterday i went to this school for to take admission for my kid for PP2 .
they asked me to pay admission fee 25,000 (in cash only, they don't give  receipt as well).
apart from this 5000/- for power English & activity play fee.
tuition fee is 57000/-  per annum.

transport and books other fees additional.  playground was big  but that is for  higher classes? .
anyone have idea about this school , is it good for PP2 level kids ?

krishnach5000 2015-03-26 15:48:28

Both my Kids are Studying in "Surya Academy the Global School" since 2 years it has been opened.

After being patient with the school since its budding stage and having some expectations of things getting improved going forth, however noticed them getting worse and the School becoming more commercial and putting less emphasis on improving their existing state of Academics and Infrastructure. School fee gets hiked more than 15% each year. Lunch is mandatory and you need to pay for it even though you are not interested. They change the uniform almost every year, books are costly but not on par with the standards.

The school has invested good in the Building however they doesnâ'¬â"¢t seem to be investing right in the Academics realted facilities, Sports related facilites and Teaching staff. Academics are really poor and teachers keep changing all through the year. They do not have good labs compared to other schools on par. They have leased their school ground to a sports academy called "Sports Cult" which uses it for their sports business and it is not meant for the School students. Please donâ'¬â"¢t be fooled by seeing the Tennis courts, Skating rink and Cricket Pitch in the premises, school students are not allowed to use these facilities at all.

I noticed my kids who used to be good at their learning abilities before joining this school getting deterioted in their academic performance. To my horror I noticed their writing getting worse than it used to be earlier and I heard many parents complaining the same. I do not see any imrovement on their communication skills either and school doesnâ'¬â"¢t seem to encourage the students to speak in English in the premises. I do not see a good mathematics teacher in the school which I believe is important for the academics.

I believe that it is the right foundation in the school which builds the bright future of the child and I do not see it to be promising in this school. I finally thought to withdraw my kids from this school although I got to reinvest on donations in the new school as i really did not feel worth continuing them here anymore.

gopal1 2016-06-09 15:49:14

Sentia old school with poor focus on academics.

Even they do not have proper pics to upload in Facebook. They use same pics repeatedly..
