We stay in Himayathnagar, recently Oxford has started CBSE uptill 8th class. And the school is really good with experienced staff and well trained teachers. It has got a very big play ground about one acre. Though it has started in 2010 - 2011 , it has good number of strength, because OGS SSc is 30 years old. To my knowledge they are strictly following the CBSE norms.
Sorry to have not seen ur query. I think you could as well take up CBSE for your son in class 6 . It will not make much of a difference except languages. The Std of English in CBSE board is higher than SSC board. He will be able to cope up. He will be ahead in Maths as SSC maths is quite exhaustive right from lower grades. The admissions into higher classes start in the end of Mar. You can try in Oxford or any other good CBSE school. Sujatha has already told u abt OGS.
HI Mickey & Sujatha,
Thanks for ur response. Actually we paid admission fee in Oxford for our son into SSC stream, they said that CBSE upto VIII may/may not be there this year. So we took assurance from them that if CBSE is going to be started for VI this year we would join him in CBSE stream.
I just got the message from Oxford school that they are going to start CBSE till VIII Class, they gave us the chance to change our son's admission from SSC to CBSE.
My son is good in SSC academics, so at this point our decision to change to CBSE should not effect him.
I would appreciate any advice in this regard.
We r new to Hyd & currently looking for admission in this school.
Can parents of kids going to this school share their review please. Also please inform about the fee structure.

Hi can any one pls give review for Oxford grammar school himaytnagar CBSE syllubus as I m planning my son for same school thank you
Hi Tushar1982 - Have you admitted youir kid to Oxford grammar? How is it?
Ho somal Not yet i have not yet got any response from Any parent from this board
i have finalized this school as my last option for my son for PP1 (LKG) for coming academic yr on basis of the reviews from other source as the school education is ok u cannot expect much only thing why im considering this school as they have good play ground i live in kachiguda so travel time is less and they do provide bus facility as i work in night shift i would prefer school pick and drop if the school is near by my son can save much time and he can utilize that time in other activities after school if you really want quality education with cbse board you can try Harvard school in himayathnagar they do not have ground at all and when i went to the school it looked like is was in fish market none of the school children were speeking in english although Havard has got award for best cbse school in Hyderabad
Hope i have helped you in this matter
pls let me know if you get any reviews on oxford school from any of your sources
Somal Sorry forgot to mention the school fees is also less compared to other school for oxford
Hi Tushar , I have also kept Oxford as the last option. I am in favour of the school because yes it has a playground , secondly it has a lot of good crowd both Hindi and Telugu speaking from himayatnagar and narayanguda areas. My son is half noth and half south indian so he would definately enjoy the company of fellow students there. I heard about Havard but like you said even Iam of the opinion that kids should enjoy their schooling and not study at cramped places devoid of any freedom. Oxford is 3.5 kms from my house and once he gets back home he has more time to play and sleep and study as well. I have not heard any negative reviews about the school. Only positive or average reviews. The admission forms are being issued now I think. I plan to go this saturday. Let me know if you already got the form . If yes whats the cost and do we need to show the birth certificate as well? Please try Aurobindo also if you wnat as LKG admissions are now open and its a very good school. It has transport facility too.
I had visited the school last weel n had a look at the facility , the classrooms I mean. If you are happy with their campus n the fact that it's neither like an international school nor too downgraded , you won't have issues. I saw a group of teachers standing n found them quite well mannered and the kind who were extremely good at English. They seemed quite experienced.so teachers wise I think it's good. Tje timings are a bit too much, 9 to 3:45 and Saturdays also they have school... separate buildings for ssc and CBSE
Hi somal, plz let me know about oxford CBSE. Is it full CBSE or changed to SSC in higher grades.
Oxford has both CBSE and SSC...when we went for enquiry they asked us which board we were interested in...they have separate buildings for ssc and CBSE...the school has been around for around 3 decades now n it is a good school if you don't have international school expectations. Being in himauatnagar , you get a lot of mixed crowd which is good.Bus facility is also there
i called the school for admission form. they said to call on Monday. is that true? cause on website its showing admissions are started.
I think Oxford grammar doesn't have so much competition for admissions...when I went 2 weeks back they said come next week...then I asked why the admissions board is displayed n they said that it's for current year !!! Also when we enquired again last week they said come next week, there would be some test n interview n then we need to pay fee..I felt it was a bit too quick for me to decide ..I think you can wait as well as you can get admissions later also
last year when i inquired abt the school Admissions they were calling me for admissions till January
so pls do not hurry for this school
Pls help me how is oxford grammar school in himayt nagar i eant to goin my daughter for 1st std
Hi Vijju 1987
I had applied in Vidya Vinalaya , oxford and aurobindo intenational school i got admission in all three and i have selected vidya vinalaya,
oxford school is good they have good ground and they have both SSC and CBSE syllabus as to narrow down you are looking for 1st std i guess u may not have much options and now admissions for most of the schools have closed
i got good reviews of school and many parents i know have opted this year in the same school for LKG for their children as they all are my sons class mates when i went for interview the school teachers spoke very well their English was good i could see students on ground playing and interacted with many children their English was also good
I just have this knowledge
Hope i have helped you
