Good CBSE school for my child

Hi,

We have recently relocated to Hyderabad and are looking for a good CBSE school for our son, who turns 4 and half years this month. He was studying in LKG at our earlier location (Kochi, Kerala), however due to the relocation we need to find a good school for him here.

As this is the middle of the academic year, I really have two questions:

- Is there a school which will admit him in LKG this year itself?

- If not, we would like to have him admitted into UKG for next year (2011.) However we did some local enquiry on this, and were told that admission to UKG will depend on the vacancy (if any), and would also be subject to an admission test to be held early next year. We would naturally like to avoid such big uncertainties in our son's admission, so would like to know if there are some schools (good schools) which will guarantee the UKG admission now itself.

Our main criteria for the school is that it should follow CBSE curriculum, with consistently good academic performance in board-level as well as competitive exams.

We will really appreciate some solid information on this topic, as we are quite new to the city. Will look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks and regards

Supriyo Ghose

Hi Supriyo,
I think you can try in Sentia-The Global in Miyapur. However your second criteria  " with consistently good academic performance in board-level as well as competitive exams "  is not fulfilled as the school has not yet appeared for  class X boards.  But overall, the school is having good reviews.   You can try Vikas-The concept school too in Miyapur. Class X results are good.

You can make him write the entrance for MVM, Chirec ,  DAV, BVB, JHPS, Meridian ( these schools  are established). MVM is giving the forms for UKG. Pl collect.

There is one more option. Home tutor your child till UKG entrance. Make ur child appear for UKG entrance and wait till the results are out  so that u r certain about the school and join him in UKG directly if that suits you.

Mickey

Hi Supriyo,

Yes, DPS diamond point will be near to Begumpet. You can try in UKG. Pl call up the school and know the status of application forms for UKG. It is till 10th.

DPS Diamond point - 040 27895900/905/902

As such, Chinmaya Vidyaylaya in Begumpet is issuing LKG forms on 6th Dec and 7th Dec. I don't think it s for UKG. Check out for its ad in Hindu and Eenadu tomorrow and day after tom.   040-23418012

Hi Mickey,

Thanks much for the info. We will definitely contact DPS and get the forms. Could you please provide feedback on the two schools - St. Patricks Seunderabad and St. Andrews (Bowenpally, Marredpally)? We visited St Patricks over the weekend. St Andrews has come out with admission forms. We would like to know how is their academic performance, faculty strength as well as extra curricular activities.

Will appreciate your inputs very much.

Thanks and regards

Supriyo

Hi Supriyo,

I think you can prefer St Andrews. It is an old and established school. My cousin passed out from this school a few years back.  I don't know their faculty strength but their academic performance and extra-curricuar activities and teaching has been good for the past many years. . Previously the school had only SSC but it introduced CBSE later on.

You can take the forms of both schools and decide later.

Rgds,
Mickey
