Hi,

Can anyone give me some feedback on the following schools along with their fee structure. My son will have to join PP2 next academic year. I am a working mother. So I am in search of a good school and a day care center after school.

1) International School, Shaikpet

2) Future Kids School

Please suggest any other schools also. I am avoiding schools like DPS and meridian.

Thanks.

Priya

Also, I would like to know if KV school is only for Central Govt employees? Is that so ?? I have heard they are good schools, but can we get an admission in them ???

Hi Priya,

Akki2010's (akshita) daughter is studying in International school of Shaikpet. You can get in touch with her through parentree inbox to know more about this school. As such ,it is not an expensive school. She wasn't that satisfied. It is better you visit the school and decide. Future kids can be preferred first.

Yes, first preference is always given to Central Govt employees and then State Govt employees in KV. But civilians can also apply. You can check out my detailed reply about KV to Nitin written  today in the below link .

I have mentioned about Prerna and MVM too...

 Hi Mickey,

I have just joined this site and it seems as if U are the only one who can help us for our child's admission, he is presently in class 5.This yr in April we came to Hyderabad & were bit late for admission, since we had no option left we admitted him in Learnium school in MLA Colony in Banjara hils and 2nd branch in himayat nagar. As a parent I am not satisfied with this school and is looking for a change. Please help us.We are looking for CBSE school. We are residing near Film Nagar. How difficult it is to have admission in Bhawan's? and how difficult it is to have admission in class 6, is it simply based on entrance exam? when do this admission process for class 6 starts?

Do tell us more CBSE schools other than Bhawan's and admission fees if possible and also is donation is asked everywhere thn approx how much? We are somehow not interested in International schools, my husband doesnt likes DPS....huhh!!

Hi Ritu,

Admission will depend purely on vacancy. Please contact the schools in the month of feb/mar/april. You need to keep a tab on interested schools.

You can try in P. Obul Reddy Public school in Banjara Hills and Bhavan's too. The chances are bright in BVB, Atmakuri. You might have to pay some donation towards building fund.  You can also try in Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Begumpet. Though the school doesn't have tansport facility, there are many school autos and Vans.

Any CBSE school is good in the long run as the syllabus is same through out India. KVs are the best as it has branches all over India and you will find a KV in the remotest part. Prefer taking Sanskrit or French as the third language instead of local language (telugu). In case u get transferred , ur child will not face any probs with lang.  There is no KV in Banjara Hills. You will find it in Begumpet, Gachibowli, Picket and other areas.

Hi Ritu,

I have the phone number of BVB, Atmakuri. It is on Rd no 45.

040-23607772 . Its not that far from BVB, JHills. Though its a new school , I have heard  mixed reviews about this school from my friends. You can have a look at diff reviews of this school in the below link.

http://www.zeeksha.com/school/bharatiya-vidya-bhavans-public-school-jubilee-hills

Bcoz of the exceeding strength and demand for this school, they  have started a new branch in Atmakuri.   www.bvbpsjh.com  . This is  the website of BVB, JHills. I don't think the new one has  a website yet.

Hi Ritu,

I was too occupied for the last two days with Children's Day celebrations and going around places !! Sorry for the delay....thought i could  reply  after 2 days as it wasn't urgent...

Well...as far as FIITJEE or any coaching institute is concerned, i would definitely not recommend it in class 6.  You are going to stress him further. It is better to take up State(SSC) Maths coaching at home if he is in CBSE/ICSE as State Maths  is excellent.  Doing State Maths additionally will improve his concepts and lay a strong foundation in Maths. My friend  had joined her daughter in FIITJEE in class 8. She went happily for the first two months when the school was having summer hols but after the school commenced, it became quite hectic for her as she had no time for other activities and  has discontinued now. Her daughter is a very bright student. Classes are conducted on weekend continuosly for  5 to 6 hours and she got too vexed up.

I don''t say it will happen to everyone. But after attending extra coaching classes for so many years before class X,  many of them lose interest to study seriously when it is really required i.e in class XI and XII (or Inter 1 yr and 2nd yr).

Though i was not keen, my  elder daughter too insisted to join  for FIITJEE's  ASCENT two yr program in class IX after seeing her friends.  Though it was good in class 9 and it has become too hectic now. Most of the FIITJEE tests coincide with their school unit tests or exams. Nowthat CBSE has introduced CCE , all school tests, presentations and projects  are compulsory  and children can't afford to miss them or perform badly.  She is balancing both  school & FIITJEE.   However , it depends on an individual.

FIITJEE requires lot of self study and self motivation unlike Narayana or Sri Chaitanya Concept schools. Your child should complete  all the  worksheets, CPPs ,quiz ,   get his doubts clarified , maintain regularity and give consistent performance too. If you feel , he can do all this at this age, please go ahead and join him in FIITJEE.  As parents , you too have to sit with him and follow up his lessons and see that he is regular.

I feel you can wait for sometime. 6th is too early.

Regards,
Mickey

Hi Ritu, I missed writing about T.I.M.E in my above post. Except for its regular ads in the news papers i don't know much about this school. They have started it recently. From its ad, it  looks quite promising and worth giving it a try. Please visit personally and talk to few parents. TIME academy is very well known for its CAT coaching and  excellent results.

I think T.I M.E is only for preschool kids.  It also offers coaching for various entrance exams but i don't think they have a full time middle and high school. Please check out.

Hi Ritu,

After class 7, the kids will be shifted to their branch in Safilguda. Safilguda , Dav is very good and my neighbour's son is studying here in class 8. He was in Dav, BJhills till class 7.  DAV, Safilguda is till 12th.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya is also good. Yes,  you have to enquire in April. Admission will depend on vacancy followed by entrance test.  Fee is very economical in both Chinmaya and DAV as they are non-profit organizations.

Admission fee in Chinmaya is less. It was 25K last year. Term fee for class 5 to 7 in Chinmaya this year is 20K which can be paid in two instalments.

In DAV, Banjara Hills, my friend had been told to pay 50K for LKG. The term and trasport fee is very less. My neighbour has paid around 25K for class 8 including transport in DAV.

For knowing more about Chinmaya, see my reply to RSV and Aniki on 20th Jan'10 and 16th Apr respectively in the following link

yes one thing more admissions in above said school are till class 8th. In BVB JHILLS admissions are presently open fr LKG & CLASS 1&5. presently at this stage there is no vaccancy for class 6. Notice is there on the notice board.

mickey 2010-11-19 14:49:55

Hi Ritu, You can't  depend on just one school. Please take the forms and make your child write the entrance test.  You can decide about it later.  Try in 2  more schools as well.

Rgds,
Mickey
