My childern are studying at Lucknow in City Montessory School, Gomtinagar, son In class VI and daughter in class VII. I have shifted to Hyderabad and planning to bring childern from the next academic session for class VII and VIII  respectively.

My son is very good in studies and have even secured All India First Position ( class V) in National Science Olympiad 2009 and always come first in his class. Daughter is also good in her studies.

Currently their school followa ICSE syllabus.

As I am new to Hyderabad. Please suggest some of the best schools in Hyderabd for getting them admitted here for the next academic session ( 2011-12)

First let me Congratulate you for your son's success. You are indeed a proud father of two bright kids.

In which part of Hyd are you planning to stay ?

There are not many ICSE schools to choose from. You have a very limited choice compared to CBSE schools.

You can try in HPS or Gitanjali at Begumpet, Johnson's Grammar school at Sec'bad Nasr-Boys and Nasr-Girls at Gachibowli  and Khairatabad respectively , Kalpa at Banjara Hills, Ramadevi Public School near Ramoji Film City ,  Future Kids at Nanakramguda , Sreenidhi International School  in Aziz Nagar,Moinabad  and St Josephs in Abids .

You also have Abhyasa Residential  School.

Dear Mickey

Thanks a lot for your response and suggestion.

I am a CA and have joined a CA firm as a partner with office at Begumpet.

But I will not compomise with the education of my children and will choose my residenece nearyby the school locality.

First I shall choose the best school for my kinds and will then find a residence neaby that school there will be no problem for me to travel to my office.

Please guide me to choose the best school and also suggest which syllabus is good to follow ICSE or CBSE

If your children are already in ICSE right from beginning, you can opt for ICSE. However, it will be a bit stressful from class 7 onwards as the syllabus is quite vast and there are more papers in class X compared to CBSE.

The languages, General Science and Social studies subjects are  very good in ICSE compared to CBSE. CBSE however has made education less stressful in higher classes. With introduction of CCE now, the board exams in class X is optional. A student is assessed on many factors apart from academics. There is only grading system now in all the classes.  CBSE stresses more on conceptual and analytical thinking. The questions in the exams are never direct . They are all concept based .

It is purely your choice, If you think, your children will cope up easily with the vast syllabus, do continue with ICSE.

You can opt for Johnsons Grammar school followed by HPS and Gitanjali in Begumpet. You will not find a big playground in Gitanjali. You can also have a look at Niraj Public school in Ameerpet. It is close to Begumpet.  You need to keep a tab on your children in HPS and Gitanjali so that your kids don't pick up foul language.

Sreenidhi is also very good. But as it is an International school , the fee for each child would be around 2 lakhs. Morever the school is very far from the city. You can see its reviews in this forum.

You can see the fee structure in

Below is the website of Johnsons grammar school  and HPS

Dear Mickey

Please suggest which  board ICSE or CBSE is good to help children prepared well for the engineering or medical entrance exam in future.

How are the Meridian and Bhartiya Vidhya Bhawan schools?

mickey 2010-09-29 17:37:57

Both Meridian and BVB are god CBSE schools. BVB is easy on pocket and a well established school with excellent results and extra-curricular activities. BVB is a better choice.

For Engg. and medical entrance exams, prefer CBSE or SSC after class X.
SSC is far better  after X as State Maths is excellent and hence u can find many students from AP securing good  and top ranks in IIT-JEE.

My son is studying 6th class at Kennedy School (Bachupally) and following CIPP framework. I am not very much satisfied with the progress of him and thinking of changing the school from 7th class onwards. Please suggest me a good school with ICSE or CBSE syllabus and preferably with hostel facility.

I heard about Abhyasa Residential Public School but did not see relevant comments about this school. It would be great if anybody share some information about this school.
