Hi,
We also have 3 more days left. But, we already made up our minds that we wouldn't go for it.
Obvious reason: Unreasonably high fee (2.71 Lakhs for LKG/Cambridge)
From 2+ months research, I may consider Vignan's WorldOne (Kondapur) or Pheonix Greens (Kokapet) or Glandale Academy (Bandaguda - if this location/distance is fine with you).
Hi Kosmic - Chirec is a reputed school where getting admission is tough and which has an excellent track record in results over the last several years as can be seen in various neutral websites. Yes the high fees are a concern and we are hoping that the govt fee regulation committee report which is due in a few days helps reduce that somewhat. End of day its an option between an established school like Silver Oaks, Chirec, DPS, JHPS, Obul Reddy or maybe even Rockwell or Kennedy Global vs some tom dick n harry schools like World One school or some other newbie school which gives a red carpet welcome to parents since they dont have enough applications to fill up the seats. People advocating the later would themselves be running around later to get a better school for their kids. That said, new schools like TSUS also do have good expectations. Just my personal 2 so do take an informed call..
Rish8125,
Well, WorldOne is not a Tom-Dick-Harry school :)
You may want to visit it before commenting!!
In the Times_School_Rsnkings_2016, it has been ranked #4 in the West Zone while Rockwell was #2 in the same list!
And I also spoke to couple of parents (one of them happens to be my wife's colleague!), whose kids have been going to that campus since last 3 years. And all of them are been very positive about their children's progress and yes, they will be continuing in the same school.
And they charge reasonably high fee (99k as TutionFee + 23k for Transport + 25k Admission Fee) which assures the retention of best teaching faculty.
Rish8125,
Cool. I never said that I have admitted yet in Vignan. What I said is, "our kid also got admission in Chirec but due to hefty fee, I may consider Vignan's WorldOne (Kondapur) or Pheonix Greens (Kokapet) or Glandale Academy".
In fact, we have a own flat in G.Enclave that is right adjacent to Chirec campus and my kid currently goes to Oakridge's OI Play School. But, what I shared is my personal view on the fee structure that these branded schools like Chirec, Oakridge are charging too high (FYI, we were told by the admin team that in Oakridge Gachibowli campus it is 3.3 Lakhs for LKG while it is 1.8 in Bachupally campus). Neither Vignan nor PheonixGreens owner is a relative to me and like many in this PT forum, I am yet another software engineer, working for a US based company :)
Hi All, We Honestly , do not have much experience in this case nor anyone of our friends , relative children are in this school. Please let us know, what to do and do suggest best school for Cambridge curriculum. Once again we thank all your views and all who have given information this regards. Kosmic.
Chirec has 25 years of experience in the education world .. if you have big pocket go for it , it is best ..though keystone is there I prefer track record of pass outs
for latest feedback speak to parents feedback whose kids in chirec
Hi manasithakkar, Thank you for your view. Yes we are planning tomorrow before we take a call to know these school details. If you are aware about the fee details of both the school. Could you share us for 1st grade and process for admission. Thanks and regards Kosmic.
Hi Ganesh ,
As the Cambridge board demands the kid to learn, involve in gathering indepth knowledge and which makes him/her to think beyond the regular curriculum books. As we thought of giving a chance to my kid. Later on if he is not able to , then we have the option of moving to CBSC .This is based on discussions with many schools, after 5th, they can choose CBSC as Cambridge it self covers most of the CBSC topics.it just our opinion.
And pls go through the below video clip in YT.
Selecting the right board for your child by Priyanka Khandelwal.
As you might have seen many..
She explained in simple manner. Regards Kosmic
What confuses me is that I see people are in agreement to the fact that the Cambridge board involves gathering indepth knowledge and curriculum is more practical and application based. I would assume people from Cambridge board would do better in competitive exams like JEE.. However, I see comments that it might be better to join a CBSE school for JEE aspirants ... Failing to understand why that is the case?
Yes you are in the same position, what we experienced couple of weeks ago. Then we checked with teachers and parents. They are saying that it is easy for any kid to switch from Cambridge to CBSE curriculum in 5th or 8th grade, than the other way round. What I felt is the way learning English language would be easy by this method as 70% of the interest comes in adapting reading as habit for a child which Cambridge is doing. We may be wrong this is the cutting edge for us to choose Cambridge curriculum. We are not sure what our kid would like to be, now this he could be able to decide based on his interest in which field he would like to serve. We would like him to choose his path . Thanks and regards. Kosmic
Thanks Kosmic for your comments. We decided to join our kid in Chirec Cambridge. Fees is high, but I did not find anything else as a negative point with Chirec. Just wanted to put him in a school that has proven track record.
We're planning to return to Hyd next year, both my kids are currently studying in IGCSE(Cambridge) curriculum, I have also been considering Chirec for my kids, it would be very kind of you if you can share yours experience and thoughts about Chirec. Currently my kids are in 8th grade and 6th grade. It's been a very stressful process searching for schools and deciding the curriculum to continue in India and so on.... Your response really matters and will be eagerly looking forward to it.
Hi.. where did you admit your kid? I am confused between Keystone, Chirec Kondapur and Oakridge Bachupally campuses. It would be very kind of you if you could shed some light on the above schools!!
