Hello everyone, My son got admission in Nursery in Vidyaranya school for 2017 academic year. Please let me know if your child is in Vidyaranya school as i would like to know how do you feel about your child's development or in general how do you feel about school teachers/principal, day to day school routine, non-academic side of focus from school, any special initiatives, fee hikes, moral values and also academic growth etc. Basically i would like to know all these details as I want to plan my son education until class 10th. Hence from long term schooling perspective need more details.
I don't know much in detail about this school, but I can just say in 2 times that those parents who get into this school feel themselves as most lucky parents since it's very difficult and it's all about your luck to get into this school.
I am saying so because my cousin brother's daughter is studying in this school in 2nd or 3rd std and he always keeps himself boasting that he is lucky to have this school since this is the best school in everything.
Her daughter has improved a lot in everything, painting, skating (learned herself), etc etc. She looks and acts very matured now, talks very gently with elders, and many more good things about this school. If you need I can get you talk to my cousin brother about this school.
Hello Pinesh, Thank you. Yes we do appreciate a lot about the school ideology. Somewhere me and my husband believe in similar ideology. Yes it will be really very nice of you if you can help me with few details like .. -- What are the subjects taught in Nursery to 2nd or 3rd standard (until which your cousin brother's daughter is studying). -- How often the fee hike happens? -- I am aware that there are no exams till 7th class, but is there anything like assessments that happen, basically to evaluate the child's growth in different subjects? How do they understand that child is growing - what parameters are used?
My cousin gave feedback that this school is for kids to enjoy. Till UKG there are almost no studies, they just enjoy in school. They don't have any homework, no tests.
Till 7th they don't have any exams but they have their own parameters to identify child's growth which is mostly in psychological based, not marks based. I remember he said be 1 year back that school asks parents not to allow kids to watch TV and Mobiles, which they are strictly following and they haven't switched on TV since 1.5 yrs and this practically enhanced kid's interest in other areas and activities.
His both daughters are studying in Vidyaranya, elder is in 1st std and younger is in Nursery currently. The hikes are generally alternate years with 10-15% amount. Although this amount is nothing for child's interest in school.
He commented that if child isn't sent to school a single day, that would be their punishment. :-) They love to go school.
Rest you should check with feedback from other parents too.
Hi pinesh i would like to know how does Vidyaranya school assess child's growth? What are the child's growth measurement parameters used until class8? I'm aware that Vidyaranya is a "no exam, no uniform" concept untill class 8.
Hi all, can anybody else share any info about this. It will be really helpful..Thank you in advance
sriaurobindointernationalschool also follows same way of teaching. when i interacted with parents , they said they have more knowledge than regular schools students and students are enjoying the school.
Hi manikumar
Thank you for information. I did hear about Aurobindo school also. Can u tell me what are the assessing parameters that school follows to understand child growth at Aurobindo school?
Hi vibgyor2014 School is undoubtedly very good. However its about the parents to be sure what type of school you will prefer -- conventional schools or Vidyaranya/Chaitanya or Waldorf type of teaching methods. The later ones follow very different teaching methods - no exams no stress. They let the children grow with experiences and lot of practical methods, believe in learning by remaining surrounded with nature - avoid any gadget teachings, help the child to bloom like a flower to the fullest etc. School is still highly highly sought by majority of the population in Hyderabad. In vidyaranya there are no exams till 7th class, from 8th they introduce exams. Follow ICSE syllabus. BTW your son got admission in which class ? Nursery or 1st class? or any other class?
My boss's kid goes to Vidyaranya from Gachibowli. I know a few more people from my office who do the same. The school doesn't have transportation, it has to be arranged by yourself.
My son secured admission in Vidyaranya School for Nursery, 2018. After reading all the discussions related to Vidyaranya School, I am inclined towards paying fees and securing the admission. The only hurdle is transportation. I stay near Saroornagar (About 11 km from School) and School doesn't have their own transport system. We can drop the child at school while going to office but pickup is difficult as both of us are working. This is one thing which makes me reluctant to pay fees and secure a seat. For those parents whose children are studying at Vidyaranya, how do you manage the transportation. Is there anyone who is travelling from Saroornagar/Dilsukhnagar? I am looking for car-pooling/auto-pooling options.
Please suggest if sending the little one so far from school advisable or I should give up admission in Vidyaranya.
@vidya12 - Congrats! I called up the school yesterday and they said that they will announce the results only on jan 3rd week. Not sure what's happening... @KiranMB - You attended the second interview also? For which class?
