I have been to DAV Miyapur (Matrusri) and DAV Kukatpally last weekend on 26-Nov-16.
They will start issuing forms for admissions into LKG (PP-1) class for 2017-18 batch on 16th and 17th Dec 2016, to be filled and submitted in 3-5 days.
Admission Preference/Selection criterias are as below-
1) Siblings of existing student
2) Owners of Matrusri community
3) Tenants of Matrusri community
4) Others living within 3 kms of Matrusri
These are very stringent criterias and strictly follow them.
They clearly mentioned on school notice that no approach or letter will be accepted, purely on form submission, some oral test (just a verbal discussion with kid, may be a formality, not sure) and then confirmed list will be displayed in 1 month time.
Rest all classes parents need to get in touch by Jan 2017 2nd or 3rd week to know about seat available status, which is purely based on TCs (transfers from current students). For those seats too, they will follow the above given selection criteria only.
Fees is approx. 35-45k per annum for KG to 3rd or 5th grade student + One time Donation or Admission Fees of 60k + Uniform & Books around 2k per year + Bus approx. 2k per month.
So for 1st time admission, it would be atleast 1 Lakhs.
All the best.
For admission into LKG, the child should complete 3 years of age on or before the 31st of January of the year of admission. So calculate accordingly for both of your kids.
Refer below link which clearly states this rule given by DAV Miyapur.
Even I am looking for admission for my son into UKG. It's a 50-50 chance, since it all depends on TCs. And we can't know the status until the school provide details in Jan 2017.
The con side is that we need to wait until Jan 2017 if we are keen on DAV school.
We need to constantly follow-up with school in-person since mostly they don't attend phones also.
Sorry for late reply. I had missed your query.
DAV Miyapur Admission Rules can be found from below link as given on school website. Probably they don't allow any exception to this rule, but its good to check with school before assuming anything.
Admissions in LKG may be in progress.
For UKG and other classes it's 50-50 chance since it depends on TCs. Presently they haven't got any student who wants to transfer till now. Hence they are delaying the admission start. Its mostly available in March also, since by that time students transfer, but till that time new admission parents won't wait and get their kids into other schools for confirmation and to avoid risk or loosing admission.
I called them yesterday (28-Dec-16) and the admissions team updated to call/inquire in Jan 2017 last week.
What's your choice or preference for school admissions for your kids? I have applied in Silver Oaks but DAV Miyapur is 1st preference.
All the best.
We have received admission confirmation from Silver Oaks for my son into PP-2 class for 2017-18.
Campus is great with all sport facilities. Till 5th or 6th grade they follow IB curriculum and post to it they follow CBSE. This will help them to build great learning basics with fun rather than conventional way or textbook learning. Although CBSE pattern is the best in India. Hence I am still preferring DAV over Silver Oaks and waiting for them to start their admission process. Silver Oaks charges around 1.3 to 1.4 lakhs per annum (including everything) with 10% hike every year to be expected.
Refer URL for their fees structure - http://hyderabad.silveroaks.co.in/silveroaks/?page_id=68
As of now they show admission is full/closed, but probably they may start again from mid Jan 2017 if those parents who were issued admissions till now don't deposit fees (like me). I am not sure whether I will go for Silver Oaks or not, depending on DAV, thinking to take risk, little in dilemma.
I suggest you to go through other schools as well since these days there are 50-50 chances of seats being available in low-cost or trusty based schools with fees < 50k per annum.
All the best.
Hi skash1 / All,
No doubt that Bhavans J.Hills is the best school in Hyd and amongst top 5-10 rated always. A Parent and Child is lucky to get through Bhavans lucky draw for LKG.
Just now I called them and they updated that they don't have any vacancy for UKG or other class so asked to inquire in March end only.
For DAV Miyapur, I visited in-person today (03-Jan-17) and they updated to contact in Feb 1st week only.
Probably this year most of the good and reputed trust managed schools aren't getting any TCs, so it's risky to wait for them, instead better to take admission in any school that we get 1st.
Just now I called to BVB BHEL, and they updated to contact in April 2017 to inquire for admissions, if any vacancy is available to issue to non-BHEL employee children after issuing to BHEL employees then only they will issue based on availability.
I can give you feedback about MVM (Maharshi Vidya Mandir) only. I don't have any info about Bhashyam Brooks.
MVM is a good old traditional and conventional school which is based on theories of book education which was prevalent during our age schooling.
School infrastructure is same as old as we used to use, no changes, very old infra, no proper maintenance, studies also like old style, no change. Education wise it's good, but no much new way of learning taught. They have very good & big playground, they preach shlokas, high on social behavior and good learning on sports and studies. If this is fine with you then you can go ahead on this.
But to me its a no-no, since its very old school which lacks as per current market school trends, with same fees at par. They charge around 50k donation and reasonable fees of 42k for this year with 10% hike for 2017-18.
If this same amount I need to pay, I have many options around which impart better education at same cost.
This is a famous school in Hafeezpet, Kondapur area. They have to open up admissions along with other pvt schools but don't get full until March. They also struggle to fill up admissions.
This is my personal feedback. No offense...
DAV Miyapur has transport but it's already running full with 1-2 yrs of waiting period. Hence parents engage private van which is easy to organize near school.
Schools isn't ready to increase no. of buses since it will occupy additional space on ground which will impact children play area.
So don't consider school bus availability for new admission parents.
Is this really true? They don't have seats in UKG at present or after validating availability after TCs for UKG class?
Yes, I called just now and checked with DAV Kukatpally.
They updated that NO VACANCY for UKG class.
Moreover he said that parents living in Miyapur need to go to Miyapur DAV only, others they can't be given admission.
Similarly it's same for Miyapur DAV also, those living in Miyapur only can try for admissions, rest others can't be given.
No skash1, I have no feedback about Manthan.
Frankly speaking, I don't look into inquiry for many schools, just a few shortlisted schools only, and that will only help a parent to zero-in to a school and decide on admission.
sravanita, DAV Miyapur too gives admission to Miyapur residents only, with 1st preference to Matrusri community and then Miyapur. They (DAV Kukatpally & Miyapur) validate it from the address proof that a parent submits for application form. This is told to me by the school only.
I haven't admitted my son yet in Silver Oaks. Last date to submit fees is 10th Jan 17.
May be after that they may again launch admission process for next round.
But probably chances are very less to open up again for UKG.
Try your best.
