Hi Mickey,

Thnx a ton for ur valuable suggestion. I'll definately take reviews from parents before taking final decsion.

If possible plz ask ur cousin abt "High Scholars' school(Mehdipatnam, opp Gowtham school) also, smbody told its good but his kid did pre-primary long back from that school.

Thanks again.

Pratyush 2010-09-03 22:41:11

Dear Mickey,

I finally admitted my son to "Happy Scholars" in Mehdipatnam. Education wise it is gud school but not at all gud in infrastructure.

Mickey, kindly let me know once the forms of gud schools(HPS,Chirec, Chinmay etc) are out.

Thnx for ur guidance....

Regards, Sunita.

mickey 2010-09-04 10:29:25

Hi Sunita,

I will surely let u know . But you also keep a track from next month onwards. Most of the schools issue forms for Pre-primary in Oct/Nov/Dec. You can send me your email id  through parentree inbox and i will get in touch with you. Do check out ur PT inbox.
My cousin has no idea about High Scholars i couldn't respond. I am sure you must have found out  from parents of children studying here. Infrastructure doesn't matter for Nursery as u r anyway planning for a change next year.

Hello everyone,

Sorry to ask this question again, but after reading all the topics I am still very confused as to where should I enroll my 8yr old daughter (currently @ DPS Kolkata - ICSE , class 3)?

I have just rented an apartment in Janapriya, Attapur and would like to put her in an affordable (48 - 60 K / annum) school which believes in the all round development of the child (DPS Like). I was very dissapointed that DPS Hyderabad would not listen to any of my prayers and pleadings since this is a mid term transfer. Changing her pattern from ICSE to CBSE is not very wise, but I am at a loss due to the paucity of available options.

Mickey and all those who have participated here, I would like to thank all of you for the knowledgable inputs that you have shared and request you to give me a handful of names of the dream school that I am chasing :-)

mickey 2010-10-25 14:43:42

Hi Chandan,

Please have a look at International school in Shaikpet.  Its near  Attapur.

It follows ICSE and the fee would be within your budget. It is not an expensive school.

It might not be your dream school but definitely will give u comfort level of your child still being in ICSE.

You can go for Sreenidhi International School  which follows ICSE and IGCSE . It is an expensive school and would be far. Pl  check out the following link for its reviews.

You can try for midterm admission too.

DPS Hyderabad follows CBSE. Does DPS Kolkatta follow ICSE ?

You can also check out Glendale Academy at Bandlaguda. It follows CBSE.

Many parents have told  in this forum that it is good till primary. You can read the reviews by using parentree's search engine.

Hi Mickey,

After a lot of (soul) searching I have decided to admit my daughter to Sentia. They are charging me rs 22,500 for the remainder of the year (Dec - March) The Chairman and the office staff were very kind and waived off the fees for the previous term eventhough it was mntioned in their admission fees circular. It will be a 22Km drive for the little girl and we will have to arrange transport for the remainder of the term. Now I just hope she adjusts to the new enviornment without any psychological pressure.

Thanks for your tip.

mickey 2010-11-07 17:44:38

Hi Chandan,

I can understand how challenging it would have been for you to narrow down to a CBSE school when u were more interested in an ICSE school. Sentia is definitely a good choice. The school management was indeed kind  enough to waive off the previous term fees.

22 km is quite a distance for your little girl to travel everyday that too without a proper transport till Attapur.  I think it would be better to shift your residence somehwere close to Hi-Tech city / Miyapur / Kondapur so that she can use the school transport.

burri 2011-01-03 16:48:51

Hi Mickey,

You mentioned that Sentia is expensive school in some of your replies. But when we enquired with the school the fees is 40k per annum excluding trasport.

Can you please let me know what is the source of information that you have regarding the fees is 80k.

As we are planning to join our kid in sentia. Please let me know the details as I want to know whether we are not aware of anything.

burri 2011-01-03 16:52:29

vinod 2011-06-14 18:06:28

Pls contact the school mngmnt directly at 32572200 they're at Alkaapoor, Manikonda, if you've relocated to manikonda, narsingi, dargah, area - then I personally feel this school is good.

As you're school should not be more than 4-5 km from residence for the toddler, pre-schoolers.

singhvivek1973 2011-06-27 01:00:31

Pls. let me know as to how your search goes, as I am also looking for pre-school for my 2 year old  and it would be a great help!

parentinafix 2011-07-29 16:24:04

Hi mickey and all,

I have been reading your messages about schools in hyderabad. Joined in to get some specific information. In terms of educaion, co and extra-curricular activities,  overall personality development which school is better among 1. St. Andrews, Bowenpally and 2. Gitanjali Devashrey

parentinafix 2011-07-29 16:29:51

Hi Mickey and all,

Just forgot to tell that i am asking for classes VI and VIII

mickey 2011-07-30 08:35:51

  Hi Parentinafix,

Both schools are equally good. I think, the class strength in St Andrews would be more when compared to Gitanjali Devashrey. So pl check out.

parentinafix 2011-07-30 22:17:34

Hi Mickey,

We relocated recently to Hyderabad from Pune, I observed that you're active member with very good recommendations..!

You're doing a wonderful job Mickey..!

My son is 3 yrs 7 months presently in Nursery @ Smart Kids-Begumpet, I'm looking for some good options for PPI / PP2 for 2012-13 academic year.

I'm in talks with Geetanjali & Chinmaya but I'm not sure will get admission here, as I was told that recommendations from Political Backgrounds / Police Dept is necessary besides paying hefty fees..I'm trying for HPS- Begumpet, same problem, I'm clueless, can  you pl help me out, it will be big favor..!

Thanks & Regards

Phani Reddy

mickey 2011-11-08 13:23:12

 Hi PhaniReddy,
Chinmaya doesn't take any hefty donations nor does it require any recommendation. Yes, at times,  contact with any senior Chinmaya Mission member does help but not always.
The forms of Chinmaya are usually given in the first or second week of Dec.

HPS starts from class 1. Apart from Gitanjali ,you could also try in schools like
BVB (Rd  # 71)Jubilee Hills, BVB-Atmakuri on Road no 45, Jubilee Hills,
P ObulReddy(CBSE), Meridian (CBSE) or Kalpa (ICSE) in Banjara Hills,
Niraj Public School (ICSE) or Sister Nivedita in Ameerpet.

If you are willing to go towards Sec'bad, you could try DPS (Diamond Point),
Johnsons Grammar School (ICSE,Habsiguda), St Andrews (CBSE & SSC) , Sec'bad Public School (CBSE).

Pl call up the schools and keep a track of the admission forms. It is usually given in Nov/Dec.

 Former member 2011-11-09 19:04:11

Thanks a ton for your prompt revert..!

I'll try in Chinmaya, I'm looking for schools in & around 1-2 km radius of Begumpet

Also can you pl give me your reviews on (i) Chinmaya (ii) Geetanjali (3) HPS

Anyways once again thanks a ton..!

mickey 2011-11-10 08:57:20

 Hi Phani,

You could see my review on Chinmaya in the below thread to RSV (20th Jan'10) and  to Aniki on Apr 16th, 2010

You could also  see my reply to saiRLTH(Lakshmi) on Sep 14th , 2011 in the below thread about Chinmaya

You could see HPS's review in the below thread. It is given by Deepalu. Begumpet.html

Gitanjali is a good school too. However it stresses more on academics when compared to HPS.
