If v get a call for open house does it mean admission is confirmed?

Nagaraj34 2020-01-07 18:02:44

No. They will ask some questions - about you, your kid, how you spend time with the kid.... Open house is more of a discussion thing, they will explain - you ask questions, more of an interactive session I'd say.  They will call you a week after the open house, not sure how the assessment is done though.  There were parents who were trying 2nd/3rd year in a row last year.

Hi i attended the open house of fks last Saturday. This time it was common open house for all the grades together.i was looking for admission to grade 2.After open house they said if selected you will get a call within a week's time. but some of my friends again gets call open house,it means the open house is still going on. it's true that they ask the parents to answer twelve questions and then they discuss those answers I am not sure how they select the parents on basis of that answers. And on open house there were sufficient parents who should have fulfilled their no of requirements or vacant seats.,don't know why second or third round open house when u have not declared the results of first open house.may be a mean of making money, because there was a registration fee of 500' per kid. Now coming to fee structure, there ia 7500' *12=90000 rs one time admission fee plus caution money 10k..then around 1.37 lacs tuition fee, activities and dining for last year to be paid in three instalments.this year there will be around ten percent increment.so around 1.5lacs tuition plus food.and transport separate depending upon distance.so for me it was around 2 lacs plus admission fee coming to three lacs which was way higher as per the value for money because the infrastructure of the school is very minimal, just like govt schools.

Suni30 2020-01-08 17:39:19

As per the parents whose kids r already studying in fks, getting a call for open house means ninty percent chance is there that u will get admission. But this year they are calling for two or three rounds of open house.so don't know what will be the criteria of selection

@Kathraji5555: it's quite relieving that fees are not 3.5L... Any idea when do we get to know about admission /selection after the open house? This would help as we are relocating to Hyderabad Thanks in advance.

Jaya1510 2020-01-16 23:54:41

Kathraji5555 2020-01-17 02:40:56

Jaya1510..what is fee structure for Grade1?

Jaya1510 2020-01-17 08:34:58

one lac is advance admission fee. And 1.83 is annual.fee including food and transport. And this is last year fee, they have shown. So total it will be 2.83

Kathraji5555 2020-01-17 09:41:19

1 lac admission fee is kind of donation and refundable?next yr on wards it will be around 1.83?

Hi, we attended open house on Jan 11th and got a call on Jan18th confirming seat and asked us to pay Rs.1.15 Lakh as admission fee within a week. Happy that we got seat. But looking for more inputs how the school is and is it worth paying this much amount as I felt it bit higher side. Anyone who is already associated with the school, please reply.

Elsa2016 2020-01-23 20:33:39

I got a call from fks on 11 th Jan and i had attended the open house on 4th jan.i did not take admission there, because for grade one new admission ,new kokapet campus has been offered and they were not giving any detail about the location and infrastructure of the campus.and i did not want to try new campus for small kids and vice principal said as on when time passes by that kokapet branch will change into a full fledged school, like class one promote to class two, class 2 will promote to class three and so on.i did not find anything value for money in future kids, and that's y did not take admission there

Sumit17 2020-01-26 17:13:00

I heard that the new campus won't be ready until next year. So this year (2020-21), they will come up with some temporary arrangement. Not sure about the details though.

quixote 2020-02-10 10:08:01

I understand that the campus will by ready by end of Feb 2020 and the visits will be planned immediately thereafter.

The main reasons I chose FKS for my kid are:
- I like Ms. Shailja Rao's teaching philosophy of promoting co-operation over competition.
- My preference is for ICSE and it's quite difficult to find an ICSE school closer to Gachibowli area
- Fee structure is reasonable. I am paying 1.92 lakhs (which includes food, transport and extra curricular) for Grade 1

Pallavi2016 2020-02-10 11:51:35

Thanks for this positive msg. We too have opted for our kid for LKG but bit disappointed with the location and how people are prioritising the old campus to new campus. We have taken admission for new campus with a hope that they will take the equal care here as well. Have to see how it goes. Like u even we preferred icse and after seeing Ms.Shailaja mam, we felt she is the right person whom we can trust. Hoping for the best!!

My son is studying in DPS and will go to Grade 1 this June. I have a disappointing experience last 2yrs at DPS with the loads of worksheets given and teachers sound impatient when the children are not up to their mark. Unlike them, I found my son picking up concepts but a bit slowly which I am fine with. I am scared of the pressure the school is building around him and want my son to build interest in the concepts rather than hurrying to catch up.

The Future Kid's school sounds promising to me. I am happy with the way teachers spoke at the Open house and the ideology of the Principal and her attitude.  I am yet to confirm my son's admission in a week.

With all the positives, the one drawback I found is with the infrastructure. DPS has huge 6.5acres land whereas FKS Puppalaguda is built on 3 acres( unlike DPS, I could not find the breakup of play grounds and building anywhere on the net) and the new campus they said is going to be on 1 acre land(a shock to me) at Narsingi circle, that's what I have learnt from the POC. This new campus is going to grow with the increasing classes. They did not confirm if they are going to procure more land, I am not sure how they will manage with the increasing classes and labs etc in that 1 acre.

Please anyone guide me on the points you feel I am wrong.

@sirishay, @Pallavi2016, @quixote

Did they say this campus is for new students / new admissions only?

 Former member 2020-02-10 15:50:34

Yes she said that. This new campus is for new admissions only. Now they are starting from Nursery to 2nd class and every year as children progress in their classes, they will expand this new campus till 10th class.
