Hi Rajvi,
Most of the schools in Hyd have fixed 3.5 yrs for admission into LKG now.

The ideal age is 3.5+ to 4 yrs for LKG.
There is no prescribed age limit for appearing in Class 10 Board Exams in CBSE and ICSE however we are told by School Management  that a child should have completed 14 yrs  (14+) to write Class 10 Board Exams.

Schools are required to follow age norms during admission set by State Education Dept of concerned state govt.

Pl go through following links. They are faqs of CBSE & ISC Board.

Taking into account the vast syllabus in higher grades and stress levels, it is better to follow age norms.

I think 3 months wouldn't be a barrier as such in future because your child would be 14+ in Class 10 taking into consideration that he will not  have any breaks in between.

In case you continue him in Niraj ( ICSE) and feel that he isn't able to cope up, you could make him repeat the grade or change him to CBSE. For ICSE schools, children's age should be ideally 4 for LKG.

Hi Sree,
It is better to get your child assessed by school and then decide. Few Schools admit kids into LKG at 3.3 too but I would suggest you to decide according to child's pace.
There are many Pre-schools around Kukatpally having good reviews. You could check out -
Bubbles Play school,
Euro Kids,
T.I.M.E ,
Radclifee( Balanagar- It is a regular CBSE school)

Thank you Mickey for your advice. we visited Iris Florets Happy play school and Spring Board International Preschool in vivenkananda nagar. Iris florets they started this year, school infrastructure is good. Spring board they started 2 years back. bith schools they are asking us to join my kid in nursery because in nursery it self they will teach the kids writing A to Z and numbers 1 to 10. we enquired Bubbles paly school and euro kids they are not willing to provide transportation till kukatpally(metro cash and carry) and we visited kennedy sparks school they are ready to take my kid in to LKG. we are not able to decide which school will be better. Please suggest

Hi Sree,
Prefer the school which is near. Generally  whatever is taught in Nursery is repeated again in LKG. In  Nursery, most of the syllabus is taught orally and children are made to draw patterns and shapes/ lines which would enable them to write easily.

I think you could train your child for 1 hr or so daily in these holidays and join her in LKG. If you feel she is finding it difficult, shift her to Nursery after 2-3 months in the same  school. Pl talk to the Mgmt. I think that shouldn't be a problem if it is the same school.

Thanks for your advice. i will discuss with school Mgmt.  Do you have any idea about the pre schools mentioned above. all the schools are located around 3 kms from my house. suggest which one is best.

My daughter is born on 23rd December. For 1st June eligibility, she is 2 years 5 months and 5 days instead of 2.5 years for Nursery admission. Does Gitanjali Devshala, Balamrai, Secunderabad take kids with 2 years 5 months for Nursery?

Any details will be highly appreciated.

hi Sree,
Sorry, I have no idea about Iris and Spring Board Pre-schools. The ratings of Kennedy  seem to be good as such.

Hi Srikanth,
Your daughter satisfies the minimum age norm of 2.5 yrs. I don't think so, you will face any problem with the age.
2.5 yrs is the minimum age which the school is seeking for Nursery admission. It is impossible to have exact age by June 1st as children are born on different dates. (days/months/years)

hI Mickey

please suggest on  between galdium /rockwell/samshti ............any idea about fee structure for CBSE

mickey 2016-09-26 16:20:16

Hi Srinat,
Rockwell is preferrable among all the three schools. Though Gaudium is a new school, it is quite promising looking at its reviews.  Have you visited the school?

Ravid, a parent had given the fee structure of Rockwell 6 months ago in one of the threads in Parentree. Pl find it below.

" Rockwell - 120,000 fees, 75,000 admission, 15,000 caution deposit, 31,000 flat transport fees, 36,000 food for entire year. The management and overall feel is very good and i found the kids very lively and active. i get a feeling that their kids feel home. Their kokapet campus is new but fully finished. The grounds are ok ok. The fees is not very high compared to what we are used to in Bangalore. So this is my choice for now."
