I am a parent who enrolled her daughter in Meridian. It has a very prestigious reputation, and i expected much more than what was delivered.
The school takes lots of money, but the service is horrendous.
After all, a school is not only a place of learning, but should also feel safe and secure. I expected this from Meridian. I expected that if any problem arose, my daughter should feel comfortable enough to speak to teachers there.
I was very wrong. She was always an intelligent child, and when her grades dropped to Cs i was astounded. She finally told me that a lot of bullying was going on, and she could not concentrate.
The amount of bullshit that students can get away with is astonishing.
Needless to say, I was disappointed.
The mess food is very unhygienic, and I have found stones in the rice and dal numerous times.
Now onto the topic, of Sports Days and Annual Days.
They make the children practice hours and hours in the hot sun, only for a hurried, 2 hour event.
No  portion is completed for an entire month, and then suddenly, pressure pours in from all sides.
How can students deal with such a transformation? Nervous breakdowns happen quite often, not only to my daughter, but to many other children.
One ground is used for FOUR sports, and assembly hall.
Needless to say, I have transferred out of  Meridian school.

Hi, Meredian is just a money making machine school.. Many of my friends children study there and everyone has the same feedback as yours.. But it's nyc that you have taken a correct decision sooner than others.. Can you please tell me where have u joined your children after Meredian and how is the experience so far..

Hi my child is in kaushalya global school basheerbagh... I have joined him in play school.. So far so good I am very happy with the school.. By the way what is the fee structure of oakridge??

Raghav1 2015-04-09 02:07:01

How is quality and standard of education at future kids Hyderabad?? Do they charge 80k as fee .... even for kindergarten?? Someone told me that in 10th standard the fee is around 80k or something??
Please provide me your feedback??
Oakridge fee for nursery is 1.5L including transport, admission fee is around 1L. And 10% fee increment for every year.

will it same even at FKS? School??

Hi Anonparent My kid has joined Jubilee Hills Public School this year into LKG. It has been 7 6 days of schooling so too sort to comment. But its an old time school with decent infrastructure and good academic extra curricular performance by students.

Hello Parents
We are going to shift to Hyderabd, can anyone please suggest a good school for grade 6
i was thinking about Meridian, but after reading the reviews i am really worried

Anonparent12 2015-04-19 02:17:07

hi curious2015,
definetly for 6th grade is would not recommend meridian, because surely mental health is equally important as academics, and meridan does a poor job of maintaining students mental health, especially when they go to higher classes.
I would reccomend OAKRIDGE or DSE

Hi  Anonparent12

My kid is studying in UKG in Johnson Grammar School. I am absolutely unhappy with the way things work there. Its a lot of studies dumped on such young kids, the school timings are unnecessary 6 hours for a UKG kid. There is no cleanliness practiced, the classrooms are too small and dirty. Before even kids can succeed in handling the pencil properly they make them write so much, the result being dirty handwriting.  What I disliked the most is there is no sports activities incorporated in the daily routine. Infact even for sports day they make kids do dance drill. Inspite of giving suggestions that could include minor sports activities like a sack race, spoon n marble race etc etc nothing moved.

I am definitely looking for a change for 1st grade for my kid.

Could you please share some information on the curriculum being used in Oakridge? Whats the percentage of studies in the total day? what are the school timings?

Would really appreciate if you respond. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, Anonparent12 has not got back to any of your queries in past 7months.Honestly parents let me tell one thing,we as parents would never be happy with any school our children study as we ourself don't know what we expect from schools. If one tries to gather any review about a school,he or she can find atleast one 1 or 2 bad reviews about that school. This shows no parent is actually happy with the school their child goes to.So does this mean all schools are that bad?The problem is with us.We expect too much from schools. My suggestion is if your are kind of happy with the school please don't keep changing unless you are in a transferable job as this will affect your child.By the time your child gets used to his teachers and friends he or she is into another school and this is going to take another few years for that child to adjust to his or her new environment. No school can be perfect. With Dps parents say school is harassing kids with only studies;with International schools they say teachers are not qualified;with some schools they say standard is low.So going through reviews is total waste is my opinion.

Can u plz suggest which school have u shifted then

SUNNYlondon 2018-02-15 12:57:55

I Think everyone have got some good and some bad experience.
My cousins have been both in Meridian and passed out with Flying Colours.

It also depends on the Child and the home environment.

I have seen many school ( Internationals too ).

I Live in the UK and been to Meridian to check it out to put my son in 2nd standard and i am convinced.

Your child is your beautiful Asset,so go and have a look for yourself.

do not just believe on negative comment by 1 parent.
