What made you think or what happened that made you hunt for a better school.? I have 2 kids studing in Kalpa School for the last 6  and 3 year and I am totally satisfied with the school. My kids are studing good and they love their school.

LavanyaP 2010-02-15 23:16:56

Hi Hussain,

do they concentrate on over all development or only on stuides?! heard they are into ICSE board.

Hussain 2010-02-16 13:05:45

Hi LavanyaP,

Yes, this is a activity based ICSE board school and looks after the overall developement of the child. They make the child participate in various activities and games grooming their skills and building their self esteem and leadership skills while leaving no stone unturned for their academic studies. Project work is given to  the child in higer classs for parent and child teamwork.

can u pls tell me the fee rate for the Kalpa school? also, do they have mess system?

I am a new member. can anybody tell me the website for kalpa school and also the annual fee and donation they are charging? I am in a hurry Please somebody reply.

zinzy 2010-07-17 12:08:34

Kalpa School does not hv a website.  The annual fee is 30K for PP1, PP2 .. i dont know if it changes in the higher classes.  The donation is 30k and is accepted like a fee, paid into the educational society bank account.

If distance is a consideration, then its a good school.  Personally, i feel that there is way too much stress on academics.

My daughter is 4 and a half and is in UKG (PP2) and has to go from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm.  I thinks its streneous for her age and she's already writing 3 letter words and learning hindi poems.  She seems to be coping and doing well.

However, I can' t make out if its good or bad cause from my perspective i feel she is becoming a rote-learner or a bookworm but i definetly can tell you that its tiring.

They have to carry 2 lunch boxes - one for a small break and one for a bigger break.  And, they have to put their head down on the desk atleast 2  times a day as a rest mechanism after the breaks.

The management and teachers are very nice and approchable.  Transport facility is there but after those timings, i feel its torture to go home by bus.

Apart from an alert watchman, there is no great security in the school.  Due to its location, the entrance to the school gets jammed in the morning hours.

zinzy 2010-08-17 19:42:16

Today my daughter came back with so many mosquito bites on her leg - 6 of them in a row.  With Dengue around, i am afraid to send my daughter to school.   My niece went thru dengue in b'lore and it was terrible terrible to see her go thru such fever / pain.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I apply odomos lotion for her, still the mosquitos got to her.  I can't believe that the school does not use any mosquito repellent.

mickey 2010-08-17 21:41:59

Hi Zinzy,
Thats really bad to know and your fear is fully justified. Please go to the school and talk to the Principal to take some remedial measures to prevent mosquitoes. You can as such use odomos but  I don't think it is going to be effective for so long (7 -8 hrs). It is effective for just 2 to 3 hrs max.

Rgds,
Mickey

Suggest calling up the office and asking directly - 23350164, 23350020.

The website is http://www.kalpaschool.in but dont think the bus-routes are online as of now.

hi MaheshAsha,

I am planning to put my son in kalpa, can you tell me, if you were satisfied with the school, do they really concentrate on overall develpment, and how are the teachers?

thanks,

MaheshAsha 2011-01-04 01:32:07

Hi Jalees

So far so good...I am pleased with my choice to have my elder son in Kalpa...I'm also gonna admit my younger one too in Kalpa for FY12...

The school principal and teachers so far are very cooperative...I would still suggest you to visit the school and exp a first hand feeling for it...

Mahesh

jalees 2011-01-04 14:58:03

Hi Mahesh,

I did visit the school, its a decent school but little cramped. I want my kid to have academics and activities exposure. I met one of the parent and she said, in higher standards the Maths teachers are not good. They dont teach well. There are no big extra curricular activites like basket ball, criket etc. I heard the school have inter school quiz completions. Also, she said that the stuedents will not converse much in English within groups. I just make sure if I am doing a right thing.

I missed date for forms for Gitanjali school. But on this forum I heard not very positve reviews of the school. I am very confused.

I am not totally confident enough to put him in kalpa, its like a matter of comparmise and not choice.

Please anyone help me in deciding right school. Any thoughs on international school shaikpet?

thanks a lot

mickey 2011-01-04 22:47:20

Hi Jalees,

Get in touch with akki2010 for knowing more about Shaikpet International school. She has joined her daughter here last year but wasn't satisfied as such. You can write to her through pt inbox.  I feel Kalpa is a better choice .

You could also try in Euroschool, Madhapur (CBSE). The school is giving the forms for all classes upto 8.

Rgds,
Mickey

hi!! mickey,

nt so happy with Kalpa.. my first visit was disaapointment ..

Only good thing is their pool area  & serene place... classes are tiny.. undersized .. with old infra-structure .. i dnt knw wht to do.. hv applied in hps thy will announce resuts in jan end. Bhavans admission is on availability for class I.

Plz help

zinzy 2012-01-06 08:33:09

Hi NMRK

Im a regular parent, just to be clear not affiliated to the school in anyway.

Yes, its not flashy like the Oakridges or DPS / HPS etc. but my daughter wakes up in the morning - gets herself dressed and says school is awesome and runs to school.  We did have a trying time last year at the school - my child just didnt go.

And we've come to this conclusion that kids being happy or not is completely teacher dependent and thats the hard part, cause you can get a good teacher in one year and a not so good one the next and so on.  As a parent, you do look at infra but in Hyd its all show.  At the end of the day - A school is a school and teachers are teachers.

Also, u need to know that there is homework in this school - a good amount which im not fond off. Cause after being at school from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm ... its crazy to expect kids to come back home and not chill and do their hw.  but on the other side, they do it.  I dont have to force or cajole, she just completes her hw.

Then, there are extra-curricular activites which are really good - Skating / Karate / Dance / Singing etc.  I won't recommend the pool.  Being a swimmer myself, I have my genuine reasons.

The strongest point of the school is that the management and the principal are very approachable and understanding.

Warm Regards,

Zinzy

 Hi Zinzy,

Could you please let me know what the fee structure is at this school? By what the community members say around this blog, I would like to bet on this school for my child....

MaheshAsha 2012-01-06 22:31:06

Admission Fee - 35,000, Caution Deposit - 15,000

PP-1 - Quaterly Fee - 11,750 * 3

PPII through 2nd - Quaterly Fee - 13,600 * 3

I agree with Zinzy. Both my sons are happy going to this school and likes to do the homework too... It's definately isn't very fancy, But I would not focus so much on the interiors and stick to the learning and overall growth the school offers.

Hey Mickey, Great to see you are still an active particiapant and as always helping the confused parents :-)

mickey 2012-01-07 00:36:28

 Hi Nmrk,
You have already got a feedback from Zinzy n Maheshasha......

Hi Veena,
If you are looking only at communication skills, St Pauls (Hyderguda) can be preferred. It is a SSC school. The school was in news last year for spanking n ill treating students. The pic was also put up in facebook by the student. The concerned teacher was suspended too. So please check out the current status of the school and decide.

BVB n Chinmaya students too speak good n fluent english. These schools are not very strict or particular regarding the communication part. However all the students are encouraged to speak in English except in the language classes.

Regards,
Mickey
