Admission to LKG 2014-2015

Hello All

Request you all to provide your views on my findings. I stay at dilsukhnagar and commute to Raidurgam for work. Next year my son will be going to school (LKG). So I have decided to move out from dilsukhnagar to wherever my son gets admission to a good school. I do not want my son to travel more than 3 or 4 kms one way. And one more criteria is to get closer to work, although this will not be a limitation.

I am interested to move to the following locations, due various other reasons ( Miyapur, Jubille Hills, Begumpet, Vidya Nagar). Hence I came up with this list of schools.

Aurobindo - Vidya Nagar
Chinmaya - Begumpet
DPS - Khajaguda
BVB - Jubilee Hills
JHPS - Jubilee Hills
Obul Reddy - Jubilee Hills
DAV - Miyapur
Silver Oaks - Bachupally
Kennedy - Bachupally
Vikas - Bachupally

With the list of schools above, can you suggest any more?

Basically I came up with this list, by doing online research. I havent really done a "on the ground" research. I will do it this month. But would like to get a comprehensive list before starting that.

Hello All

Some updates from my side

I have visited most of the schools today. The following schools haven't entertained any discussion and would talk to prospective students and their parents only during the admission time

Kennedy - Miyapur
DPS - Khajaguda
BVB - Jubilee Hills
JHPS - Jubilee Hils
Obul Reddy - Jubilee Hills

The dates for forms and admission will start as I have mentioned in the earlier thread

The following schools have started admissions. I did talk to them personally with the school representative
Maharishi - Kondapur
Sentia - Miyapur

The following schools' representative did talk to me even if the admission process has not started
Silver Oaks - Bachupally
DAV - Miyapur

I dropped Vikas from my list. Will visit Chinmaya and Aurobindo when the admission starts

I can give more information if anyone requires

hugely appreciate your efforts in listing down your finding on the schools which are and will enlighten parents like us.

We presently are exploring pre-school for our 26 month young daughter.

Was just wondering whether you have any knowledge/reco for the same for the area in and around KPHB

I live in kondapur botanical gardens adn so i am willing to try only in the schools that are near by. the schools that are in my list are:

BVBJHPS
BVB atmakuri
obulreddy
JHPS
Maharshi vidya mandir

International School shaikpet - not sure how the school is so not decided on this
Oasis school of excellence shaikpet - i think this is a state syllabus school i would like to go with Central
BVB rajendra nagar (NIRD) - Far from kondapur so not looking as of now..

I heard sentia is good from acedemics point of view, but one of my friend told me that but it is near by 2 or 3 pharma companies,

sentia, silver oaks, kennedy, keshav reddy, vikas.... all are in the same industrial region.

I visited sentia, silver oaks, kennedy

Sentia campus is big. Heard from my collegues that education is good there and also they take good care of children
Silver Oaks campus is not as big as sentia, but still big enough. Education is good and fees is little higher than sentia
Kennedy from outside I could not visualize how big it is, but should be the same size of Silver oaks. My collegues rate Silver Oaks better than Kennedy.

@vidhyaramesh, I am also considering this school. So far saw good reviews on this site. Were you able to visit the campus in Gachibowli or Kokapet?

I visited the gachibowli campus.. Just 1 building with a small play ground.. It accommodates only till pp2..
Planning to visit kokapet tomorrow but looks like it might be a distance

Hi Friends (everyone including Mickey), I am new to this forum and need some help. I wanted to know about Pragathi Vidya Niketan located in Pragathi Nagar Opp JNTUC. I am considering this as I live very close to this school. I can very well look for international schools but honestly I do not see any sense in having an AC classroom, a big campus and luxury price tag for education. Ultimately the use of school is character building and overall growth in exposure, I believe this is still can very well be achieved by basic good schools like the ones we studied in our days.

I do not appreciate commercialization in studies atall hence looking for a good school with caring teacher. A good teacher is all we need to shape our children's career which often now we think are found in BIG international school and no where else.

Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere and let me know your views on Pragathi Vidya Niketan of Pragathi Nagar. The reason I touched upon some gyan is to stress on my views and indicate the type of school I am looking for :o)

Aurbindo international school, vidyanagar is very good. if u get admission nothing like that. they have from LKG to 12th. ICSE BOARD.

At present i am gathering information from the net about the schools. as we r in visakhapatnam i can't go personally to each and every school i short listed. i would personally not suggest DPS /DRS Brand in Hyderabad to any parent.. First of all they charge heavy fees and child gets all Royal Treatment like AC Bus, classrooms and Mc Donalds Food sometimes and what not. My Friends son has become such a big used to Gadgets and all he is spoiled like anything .. for these schools you dont even need to pass their interview... if you have money you are most welcome... Children are getting really spoiled at DPS/DRS ... my friends son is now a complete IPAD freak and had nearly 400 Friends on his FB and he is just 6 yrs old ... however this is my personal suggestion
