 Hi Swathi

Montessori Method is good because it stimulates the child's intellect and is sensory based. It is more of practical way of nurturing the child.

In India we do not have montessori till grade 10 but it is there from pre nursery to UKG in most schools. Some very few schools have till grade 8.

if one prefers it is good idea to put your child from pre nursery till ukg,and then from  grade I put in regular school.

About the schools you mentioned I do not know anyone. But you have blue bells montessori in kondapur which seems to be good.

Hi Arsi,

As I understand, your kid had been going to Blue block pre school. My kid is 21 months old and we are thinking of putting in Blue Block school. We are little concerned if it will be difficult to get admission in 1st grade after he comes out of this school as we got to know that getting admission in 1st grade is difficult in good schools.

can you please share your experience with Montessori education system and also Blue blocks.

which school is your kid going in right now?

Hi Swathi,

My 2 kids go to taraporewala montessori school, jubilee hills(Now Shriram Montessori). And I am quite happy with the school. It is not easy to tell which Montessori School is good, unless you visit the school and check for your-self. So, please call the school and have a school tour. Don't forget to talk to the children there!

FYI, taraporewala montessori school, jubilee hills is being taken forward by Shriram Montessori at the Elementary Level, up to the ICSE, and their website is

Hi Sri,

Nice to hear from you. My two kids are, one in primary(3 Yrs) and the other is in elementary(7Yrs) In my opinion, choosing a good school is a big task for any parent and if it is Montessori, choosing a right Montessori school in an extra effort again :)

If your kids are 3 yr old or at least below 4 Yrs, I think you can check with the school and discuss with them.

Lots of 'positives' to mention about the method and very few negatives for me - The distance to school from my house is 9KM :(

Pros: children are allowed to work at their own pace and at their own interests, which I think is a good preparation for real life. And, children get lots of opportunity to work and chat with other kids, which is very important for social behaviour in future. More importantly, unlike traditional methods, individual needs of the child is respected. There are lots and lots of positives to tell. You can visit and check personally. If you visit the school, don't forget to TALK to the children :)

Cons : If you don't COMPARE your kid with issues. In my opinion, every child is unique. In traditional method we can measure with MARKS and TEST the kid. Here, it is something BEYOND just MARKS and tests.

Please let me know if you need any further information or help.

thank you, Sudhir for your prompt response. How long have your children been in Shriram Montessori. What do they feel about going to school ? Would you recommend this school to others? or are there any red flags that i should be looking for ?

sudhirrd 2014-01-24 14:28:37

Hi Sri,

My children are going to Montessori since they are 2 1/2 yrs old and they are happy :)

Check with the distance from your house to school - that's the only red flag I'll give now

Hi Sri, I forgot to answer "Would you recommend this school to others?" - Yes I recommend. I did that here:
