You can find feed back abt nasr school and chinmaya from mickey in the below links ( excellent feed back)
Nasr Preprimary is at Somajiguda. after preprimary boys are shifted to Gachhiblowli Nasr school campus ( which is only boys school). only Nasr Preprimary school is co-ed.
Thanks Cherri, For your reply.
I already read the review by mickey on both nasr and chinmaya, I heard that nasr boys is a new school compared to the nasr girls i am a bit doubt full and also the review given by mickey is for nasr girls only.. very confused about deciding nasr (ICSE) boys :(
We are looking for nursery / PP1 admission of our daughter for 2013-2014. Can some one provide pointers for school options near Gachibowli, Nalagandla and their timelines, fees, ICSE/CBSE/other curriculum etc?
Few options that we are aware of are - DPS Gachibowli, Oakridge, Chirec...What else?
Details about above 3 in particular would be helpful. If this is already shared / discussed in previous years, please send me pointers. I will check.
My daughter is Jul/2009 born and was not eligible for nursery admissions into DPS Gachibowli last year.
Hey you can try in nasr.. for nursery.. after pp2 you can go ahead with the nasr girls.. i am thinking about nasr for my son, but little doubt full as nasr boys is not that good.. but nasr girls is very good...it is 45 years old school and no doubt the over all development is good.. :)
even i am planning for my sons nursery admission for the year 2013-14
I am planning to apply in the below schools
Nasr,silver oaks, kennedy high global,Obulreddy,Kalpa
out of these nasr(ICSE) and Obulreddy(CBSE) are easy on pocket.
I think we have to start follwing up the schools by the end of november for the admissions...........we can discuss among ourselves and post the updates in this thread
Any idea when DPS Gachibowli will be giving out their applications for 2013 -2014 LKG batch?
No idea about the dates, i have checked their site as well, no information on the dates.
Hoping it will be around nov end or dec first week.
I am also looking for the school admissions for my boy. He born in 2009 Dec.
I am still not able to decide to go for ICSE or CBSE.. I am planning for him medicine. If any thoughts also suggest me.
Thnk U for the info deepthi. Last year they put the notice for admissions in Decemeber i guess.
If you are planning for medicine, the choice should be CBSE. % of ICSE students securing in medicine or even in engineering entrance is very low. afik, cbse is give lot of importance to sciense subjects.
I would like to add some points here,
first of all we are not going to decide their stream of study after they grow up, its their intrest and they will be deciding on what to study.. only thing we have to do from our side is provide them the good education support and in all the ways :)
and i think your kid will be eligible for LKG as he z born in 2009, my kid is 2010 born and he z eligble for nursery.
I will agree with you that we are not able to decide their future what they become. But to decide which board i.e ICSE and CBSE we need to think of. I have read some reviews saying about difference between these two, that ICSE have more tough cyllabus and english will be very good. As theprince told, they are little back on competitive exams because these are conducted by CBSE board. To study on abroad ICSE student can eligible directly but CBSE people have to undergone some brigde cources
So i like to know what are the thoughts on parents are considering these two
Thank you theprince. Any idea if he go and study in other countries, considering these 2 board. How well these students cope up
yeah.. you are correct......even i am confused on which stream to choose for my son but a bit inclined towards CBSE, and coming to the study in abroadcbse students are also doing very very well along with the ICSE students so we dont need to worry about it
A good CBSE school student can be on par with icse school student. I don't think, it really matters, if you move to other country. Yes, the ICSE student can adjust with other schools all over the work easily, but does not mean that cbse students can't.
thing is, though you can't expect your kids to study as per your plan, but if you look for competitive exams (read engineering and medicine), still see icse stundents lags way behind cbse or state syllabus students at this time. And as some one pointed out ICSE is more tough, I disagree, it is not tough, it is vast, too much syllabus. And also some of the ICSE schools did not have exams until 7th or 8std (follows western), this is good from student point of view, but he will find very difficult to compete with CBSE/State syllabus student.
there are lot of discussions happened on parentree. but you will get confused if you read them
the thumb rule (I followed) is, if you don't look for medicine/engg and may move to other countries in near future, go for icse, if not CBSE.
i am planning for my dauhter's nursery admission for the academic year 2013-2014.

Both the nanes u r mentioning in the above post refer to the same branch.. one is in roadno 71 and the other one is in road no 45..
the pne at road no 71 is old one and in road no 45 is the new one started in 2009
Could you tell put your thoughts on Euro School Gachibowli. How is this school? What is teacher and student ratio.
I am planning for my daughter PP1 admission for the year 2013-14. She born in Feb 2009.
BVB at road No. 71 is the old one which is very good school. the other one is called BVB atmakuri rama rao school which was started just 3 to 4 years ago and it is not as good as the old one. I think BVB is far from Uppal for a LKG kid. pls visit school and talk to parents .

thankk you for the info.

Hi Alapati n all, Sorry to hv missed this thread. You have got good inputs from our friends here. .
My elder daughter passed out from Chinmaya 1 1/2 yrs back.
Two Principals have changed since then. I am not in touch with the school now. However, the school continues to be good as I keep in touch with few of my friends. Chinmaya doesn't hv Nursery. It starts from LKG.
Nasr and ObulReddy are good too. But Nasr- Boys is in Gachibowli which is quite far. Nasr-Boys at Gachibowli starts from Class 1. The school is quite good. Many of my daughter's classmates will continue in Nasr-Boys after they pass out from Pre-primary in Somajiguda.
Though Nasr is run by minorities, all are treated equally. The school is very secular in its outlook. I spoke to many parents n children in high school when i had to decide to admit my younger one here. Nasr-Boys is almost 10 yrs old. It's not new...... I have read couple of good reviews of this school from other parents too in this forum.
Yes, as already stated above, ICSE is more vast but not tough in higher grades. However, students from both the boards do very well in the entrance exams. CBSE has become stress free now as it has introduced CCE (Continous Comprehensive Evaluation) and optional Class X Boards. It may do away with optional Boards too shortly.
SSC students do very well in IIT-JEE bcoz of excellent maths syllabus n fundamentals. They however lack in languages.
