Hi all,

Can anyone let me know the feedback on Phoenix Greens school. I have read some reviews in this already that are positive ... Compared to Manthan and DPS, which is better among these three? And also can anyone who has already visited the school let me know the fee structure for 2012. I heard that there is a 10 -15 % hike on last year's fee. BTW, I am looking for Class 1.

Also, is there a possibility for recommendations or any such in Future Kids School. We coudlnt get into it due to no vacancies, but I am very much interested in that school. So anyone please suggest if there is place for any such in FKS.

Ok,finally i myself happened to visit this school. The main campus is in Kokapet .. near the TEMPUS building( some DeLite apartment complex) ... It was about 5 acres but not yet developed fully. As of now, there is just one main building where all classes from Grade 2 - 7 are there. They have a decent enough playground...

Construction work goin on for another building ... extension ... 2012 June they plan to get even Class 1 to Kokapet branch ... they said they will have cricket, football, basketball  and other such sports, dance, music, taekwondo, taichi, chess and such other activities ... I think one of them is a must on which the child would be assessed as partof curriculum.

For admissions though, we need to go to the primary school near Gachibowli ... Talk to the director and apply for prospectus ... no admission test till Class 3 i think ... just interaction with child and parents ... School seemed ok ... 25 students / class ... They have lot of learning by doing as is the trend these days ... So they have classees pre-lunch and after that the afternoon session if totally activities for all  classes. Good for the kids I thoiught :) ...

Finally the fees would be upto 97K (including food, transport and mess) ...
40K + 20K  is the one time admisiion fee &caution dep.

well...i had been to BVB, JHPS, Maharshi, P Obul Reddy, DPS and today finally to Phoenix looking for PP1/LKG admission for my son and was really frustrated by seeing money minded nature of GREAT (so called) schools like BVB, JHPS, DPS is confirmed for my kid in Maharshi but when i visited the classrooms for pre-primary...they are the worst i have seen ever, so dropped the idea of joining my son there..finally heard about Phoenix Greens, ofcourse i had been seeing the ads and its name from more than an year but always thoguth that it may be a costly school like other international schools, so never paid attention to this school...but after visiting and coming to know about all the other schools, today i just visited thinking that it would be another costly school...but my first thought after entering the school was "how come i missed this school all these days". i was so very impressed with the Gachibowli campus, ofcourse its just one building, still its very nice...planning to visit the Kokapet campus tomorrow...they have activity/value based learning, field visits, socio-welfare awareness like visiting orphanages, old agehomes, inviting orphans to the campus, inviting grand parents to school to share their experiences...what i liked is when i was visiting all the classroom...when i went to Nursery...all the kids were giving a happy and whole-hearted smile and infact few kids also greeted me with a warm smile (Hello Uncle, Good morning) without their teacher or the academic director who accompanied prompting them to do...what can anyone expect more than such a thing from a Nursery class...thats the value, the respect they are imbibing into the kids...

also, all the activities are mandatory for every kid...suppose if a kid is not interested in dance/music, instead of leaving them like that, they will make the kid sit in the activity room so that by seeing their friends involved in the activities, even that kid will start getting interest

also, stage activities are mandatory for every kids for 5 times a that they gain confidence, get clarity of expression, over come public speaking fear...

detailed fee structure is like

Refundable Caution deposit - actual 20K but need to pay 10K now

Non-refunable Admission Fee - actual 40K but need to pay 20K now

difference amounts of 10K and 20K should be paid when the kids moves to new campus at Kokapet

Annual tuition fees is 57K in 3 instalments

Transport (optional) may be around 20K in 3 instalments

Foods (optional) 13500 in 3 instalments

Others like Uniforms, bag, shoes, books etc upto 8k

timings are 8.15am to 3PM upto PP2 mon-friday and grade 1 and above mon-sat

no extended day care after 3PM from this year

99% i will be joining my son in this school

Good info about PG. Do you know they teach CBSE or ICSE? also Gachibowli campus is till 1st class?

Do they have plans to move PP classes to new campus at Kokapet, if it is ready?

Priyaraj2005 2012-01-10 16:33:57

It is CBSE curriculam ... but they claim to be teaching the International Curriculam somethign ...

Gachibowli campus is till Class 1 this year ... From June 2012 they are planning to shift even Class 1 to Kokapet so that it would be easy for games and such things ... The additional building is under construction in Kokapet ... hope they wouldcomplete it and get it ready by June ... Their total strength as of now is only 300 with the higher classes having just one section or so ... SO i guess they can accomodate ...

They dont have any plans of shifting PP classes to Kokapet as many parents are comfortable with the current campus ... But it seems if they get more requests to shift it ... they would consider that ...

Abhi82 2012-01-10 16:51:56

Thanks for the info PriyaRaj. Reg curriculam, they need to be specific what they are following... I'm planning visit the school this week, will check with them.

Priyaraj2005 2012-01-10 17:23:05

International curriculum in the sense liek ... learning by doing and all that things ... where kids are exposed to practical things instead of just text book knowledge, worksheets, field trips and all that ...

Its just the latest trend in every school ... :)
They claimed that they were the only school in hyd ... where their PP1 and PP2 kids know about evaporation , planets, solar system, lifecyle of buttefly and so on ... She took us to their class rooms and made the kids tell about them ...

When I told her that I had visited the school last year for PP2 for my son ... but did not join him then .... instead i let him continue in the same preschool as he isnow ... she was like ... sometimes decisions prove to be wrong ... had u joined him then ... he  would have known all these and u have had some saving on the fee tooo and all that ... Somehow that didnt go well with me ...

Anyway ... otherwise the school was good ...

SrinivasS 2012-02-06 15:43:33

 Hi Priyaraj & rnarsini,

Are the admissions for LKG(PP1) still open in Phoneix greens? Is there any cutoff date ?

Did you decide on this school ?

Any one else thinking of this school ?

Priyaraj2005 2012-02-06 17:39:16

Hi Srinivas,

I dont think there is any cut off date as such atleast as of now ... since it is relatively a new school ... but the earlier the better as u would be guaranteed a seat ...they willjust have interaction with the child I guess ...U have to register ur child for the class and pay the fee within 2 weeks ... This is what they told us ...

We havent yet decided on any as of now ... May be in the next 1or 2weeks we would ...

concernmom 2012-02-10 16:31:41

Been to the gach campus , greeted by students, and director, she's even made the students identify various types of fishes and recollect the solar system planets names....not sure if its indeed new type of rote learning - power rote ...

In PG, Any insight into the quality of teachers at higher grades (5+) and academic excellence at that level (Because if we join the kids now , most likely we'd expect them to continue till 10th) ......

And how does PG compare to DPS (supposedly grand daddy of academics in town!)

Priyaraj2005 2012-02-10 17:55:01

I think the director makes it a point to take around the classrooms ... make the children wish ( though hardly anyone does :) ) ... and also recite the same concepts of planets ... evaporation etc ... becoz ... last month when we visited ... we had the same lessons

But yes ... how it fares on academics in the higher classes is definetely a point of concern ... but right now ... i dont think anyone would be able to talk about tht ...

scorpionbeauty2000 2012-04-26 15:21:53

Priya and others in this thread, thanks for your reviews so far.  I visited PG today and found it pretty decent, but I want to know if any of you have already admitted your child and if yes, what are the positives and negatives about it?

Thanks  aton!

sakinaroshan 2012-04-26 22:34:37

 hi everyone,

i was also impressed by the campus and the teachers.Have joined my daughter in nursery. The building infrastructure is gud.

Priyaraj2005 2012-04-27 14:53:44

Hi Scorpionbeauty,

I havent joined my son in PG ... I did visit the school and gave the review here ... Somehow after reading a few more reviews in this forum iteself .. I did not prefer it ... First, I read a couple of reviews here in this forum whr the parents had withdrawn their kids after an year or so becoz they did not fulfill the expectations and promises that were made during admission ... OF course, on the other hand there are parents who are happy with the school too ...

Second, I was not convinced of the capability of higher class teachers ... sicne it is a new school, it is too early to think about it, they will probably improve .... but still ... I had this on mind and hence did not opt for it ...

It was in fact a tough decision to decide on the school with both +ve and -ve reviews...

Anyway, finally i joined my kid in Sancta Maria , Lingampally ... It was a little more expensive comapred to this ... but I was convinced with that school and found the management there more efficient ... Both are equally new schools ( But the institution of SM is very old and reputed - St.MAry's Group) ... except for the budget I felt SM was better to PG in all ways ... Once again this is my point of view and it mite differ frm wot other parents wud like to see in a school ...

scorpionbeauty2000 2012-04-27 15:38:59

Priya, i think you made a good decision. PG seems good to me compared to the other schools in this area but something is putting me off about that place. I saw a couple of their youtube videos and they seem to be stressing out the child during the annual day function.

I think you made a very good choice, if budget would permit, i would have chosen sancta maria too. good luck and thanks for your post again.

My son has been studying in PG since 2 years. now he is in PP2 And we are extremely happy with his development considering the fact that we both are working parents and do not get much time to spend for his studies. The amount of knowledge that he gets from school is amazing and that is surely not possible without his class teachers support. They have , 2:25 teacher student ratio and 1 aayamma, send weekly updates on the child progress, regular PTM's, daily 1/2 pages homework ( which i feel is needed for a child to get the habit of studying ). Pre-lunch they have regular classes, post lunch there is nap time of 30-45 mins after which they have other activities like music, dance, chess etc. it was really good to know that my son was telling the actual names of those coins like rook/pawn/bishop whereas when i was a child i used to call it as elephant/soldier (even till date :-) ). So they concentrate on overall development. I liked their way of teaching. Now they have started to introduce the habit of reading books for PP2 . They have prepared story books with small sentences to develop interest in reading. I liked this concept very much. The fee structure is also not very high. 62k tuition fees + transport+ food if chosen.and one time admission fees. So overall this is one of the best schools whose campus is close to HiTec City.

hello, many students are there in your child's class. what does the meals for his lunch and other break time include

vhars 2013-11-07 14:35:41

there are around 22 kids in his class. we give him home food. But the menu for the food that the school provides will be sent weekly. in the morning at 9, they have breakfast time. and between 12-12.30 ( lunch time). the school ends by 2.15..By 2.30 all the buses start.

kiran4hari 2013-11-08 18:39:30

@vhars, how much %ge fee they are incrementing every year? Last year what was the tuition fee you had to pay? Just checking as some schools increase it by 15% to 20%.

vhars 2013-11-11 17:57:51

Last year we paid 54 k i think..

tuna123 2013-11-11 22:19:07

Visited the campus today  to inquiry about admission for class-1. The campus  looks good not sure about the teaching environment.

According to them if you take admission before DEC-13 for Academic year 2014-15 the fee will be 10% hike of last year and it may go up more after Dec.

kiran4hari 2013-11-13 12:21:02

I read in one of the threads that Phoenix greens has a clause to not to increase fees more than 6 to 7% every year. As per you it can be more than 10% after december...

NagaVasantha 2013-11-20 14:11:23

vhars 2013-12-04 15:31:34

Currently my kid goes to Gachibowli campus. we have not faced any issue till now. Regarding the Kokapet campus, when i talked to some of the parents whose kids go to the Kokapet campus, they said it was good. Infact the parent who relocated from chennai to hyderabad was very happy with her daughters progress and says she has improved a lot when compared to her previous school.

PriyaKasina 2013-12-05 15:04:17

Thanku vhar for your response..

PriyaKasina 2013-12-06 09:47:53

Hi Vhar,

COuld you pls let me know the fee structure for PP1 in Gachibowli and kokapet campus..

vhars 2013-12-06 16:25:27

Sorry ..I dont have the latest Fee Structure. But i think the tuition fees would come between 65k - 70 k. because this year we paid 62 k for PP2.

kiran4hari 2013-12-06 17:14:03

When we went to this school couple of weeks back, they only showed us last years fee structure and they said this year it will be little higher. They might have not yet decided the fee hike percentage.
