Hi there,

Can anyone give us the feed back of SVIS as Kompally. And also would like to know if there is any donation there. The fee looks reasonable...but not sure if there is any donation also. The site says that they don't take donation. Couldl someone specify if they know about it.

mickey 2011-12-19 18:18:02

 Hi Raj,
I don't any parent personally from SVIS but heard postive reviews from many parents.
Yes, the fee is quite reasonable for the facilities it offers.

hi Mickey

Thats what i have a feeling whether if there is any high donation as fee is reasonable. I am planning to join my kids in that school. We need to shift from Ameerpet to Kompally. So re-locating etc....we want to be sure before we jump into any conclusions.

Hi mickey & all,

We are shifting to secunderabad and my  3.5year old daughter is presently studying in class nursery. I am open to both cbse or icse board schools. Would love it if someone could guide me.

Have applied for gitanjali devshala secunderabad, st.andrews school marredpally.  Please suggest  me if any other good schools i need to apply for  . Thanks in advance:)

AKC 2011-12-19 23:17:31

Hi Raj,

Its true that there is no donation in SVIS as mentioned in their website. I have joined my son last year in Grade II.

Academically there is no pressure on the children in this school. But for extra curricular activities they put lot of pressure on the children and they become panic. No discipline in the children. I observed the change in my son's behaviour. After joining here he has become very lethargic even in completing his home work due to no pressure on him from teacher's side,as per the school's policy.

Somehow I am not completely satisfied with this school. Before coming to a conclusion it advisable to visit the school once and meet some of the pre primary student's parents.

You can also try in St. Anns, ICSC school located in Kompally. Its a coed school and branch of St. Anns Sec'bad. I heard good reviews about this school and fees are also reasonable.

Thanks and best of luck,

Thanks for your reply.  How is the school with respect to overall personality development of the child - they have to be good citizens, curious about knowledge/information and not just memorize answers.

Hello AKc,

What is the student teacher ratio at SVIS Kompally. Please let me know as if that factor plays a major role in schooling. And does the school bus has A/C and are the school buses realiable. Any idea please let meknow.

MohanaKannan 2011-12-20 15:05:57

Hi Raj,

School buses are not A/C. Teacher student ratio in higher classes is 1:30 and in LKG/UKG its supposed to be 1:15

hi Mohana

Thanks...Any idea how is Niraj International school, at Kompally? Can you give me some information about the school.

AKC 2011-12-20 22:25:30

Hi Raj/ Ratna,

The ambience of Niraj International School is very impressive  and is well equiped with good infra structure for sports and other activities. Last year the fees was above 1.25 Lacs. If fees is not the concerned, then definitely you can look for Niraj International School. This school is located in Kandlakoi i.e 10 Kms from Kompally towards medchal.

Thanks....  AKC.

AKC 2011-12-20 22:33:20

Hi Raj,

SVIS is still experimenting in organising the activities and even the teaching methodology. Reg overall development, like all other schools here also the teachers  motivate and focus more on merit students and gives good opportunities to participate in various activities instead of encouraging and motivating average and below average student. In this regard, SVIS is not different from other common schools. This may not be the school's policy but the teachers are following this system. Hence it will take some more time to comment about overall development of the child.

Thanks ......

Hello AKC,

Thanks for the feed back.  I am just trying to look at SVIS. I will meet the principal and see the infrastructure also. As a parent i am just looking a school that would nearly match the school my kids are studying here. be completely satisfied with any school is not possible i think...after googling on different schools in Hyd. This is what i have felt.  But lets hope ......the decision we take  is going to be right...and ultimate intention of googling so many schools is my kids should be happy and not tensed or scared or worried or unhappy to go to school.

Thanks once again

MohanaKannan 2011-12-21 08:56:56

Hi Raj, Ratna,

I have taken admission for my kids in SVIS (Grade III and LKG) for the 2012-2013 session. Have my fingers crossed. As long as the kids look forward to go to school - All is well!!

lynnray 2012-11-09 10:51:01

Hi Mohana,

Could you tell how is SVIS now?

AKC 2012-11-09 23:10:25

Hi Lynn,

My son is studying in this school. I am not happy and  comfortable with the systems followed in this school. Children are not all disciplined and doesn't care much about their teachers. I have observed the change in my son's behaviour after he joined in this school. Too liberal. Too much extra curricular activities on daily basis leading to lot of time waste and at the same time the activities are only name sake and no proper coaches for the sports.

If you are not particular about CBSE, you can also try in St. Anns in pet basheerbad. I heard good reviews about this school. If you are ready to go upto Alwal, you can try with Pallavi Model School also, which is affliated to CBSE Board.

lynnray 2012-11-10 12:02:20

Thanks for your valuable feedback. St.Anns and Pallavi Model school is a bit far for us. We are in Tirumulgiri and for us.. options are DPS, Pallavi, St Andrews . Do you know how St.Andrews is.. and whether they focus on extra curricular activites also . And about the student - teacher ratio.

Once again thanks for your valuable time.

AKC 2012-11-12 23:02:42

Hi Lincy,

I heard St. Andrews is good in academics as well as extra curricular activities. but heard that the teacher student ratio is very high i.e 1:40.

You can also try even in St. Peters located in Bowenpally. I heard good reviews about  this school. Both DPS and Palavi Model school are also good academically as well as extra curricular activities. You can try even in Johnson Grammer school, West Marredpally, if it is not much far from your house.

Thanks ....

lynnray 2012-11-13 14:30:29

Thanks AKC

Thanks for the info on SVIS can u tell me what is keeping you continue with SVIS for your son .......i appreciate ur info as we are considering this school to my kids for next academic year ie 2013-14

AKC 2012-11-15 23:04:03

Still I am thinking whether to continue him in this school or not. Actually on personal and official grounds I have shifted my residence two - three times and everytime we have changed my son's school accordingly as I want my son's school need to be nearer to our residence. Because of this I am worried to change the school again as frequent change of schools may effect his education.

SwanS 2012-11-29 01:50:21

Hi Raj,

My daughter is 2nd standard in SVIS and following are my obervations.

1. There is a continous evaluation mechanism for students. I disagree with somebody's comment that there is no pressure on students. I think pressure is there and it is just right amount.

2. Lots of extra curricular activities. Entirely upto you if you want your child participate in all of them. Most of the students do, thanks to peer pressure.

3. When I admitted my daughter in this school last year back, I did not pay any donations.

4. Classroom and transport buses, do not have AC. I am OK with that.

5. PTMs are conducted with regular frequency. You can voice your concerns in these meetings. Till now (standard 1 and 2) teachers have been good and have heard us out and have been equally communicative in their concerns etc.,

6. Overall, my perception is that this school is trying to balance, modern and traditional values. Do not expect best of breed facilities etc.,, but yes expect a decent set of facility that an 'international school' is supposed to have

pavan2014 2014-10-19 02:38:17

Hi Raj,

My son is in grade1 in SVIS. We have not paid any donations at the time of admission.

It is a good school with moral values. Not like many other commercial schools.

SVIS conducts regular parent teacher meetings. They are following time to time evaluations of students.

Teachers are very responsible. They take suggestions from parents.

I can confidently recommend SVIS to other parents.

sara85 2014-12-13 17:07:06

im specific abt Cbse schools any good schools in sec-bad for class 1.
plz suggest me.

6809 2014-12-17 17:29:40

Hi sara
getting admission in kendriya vidyala is lottery based so you can totally depend on that buts its a good schoool   st. andrews marredpally, is second preference and lot of competition due to very less vacancies  and also they conduct a written test
than pallavi model school in my opinion
