many of us in this group know the nutritive values of atta over maida... and I am such a major atta freak that I substitute Atta even in cakes and muffins recipes.
My family loves my cakes more because of the taste , surely it isnt as fluffy as maida but taste is amazing .....
has anyone atta cakes?
I totally agree with you. I used to bake cakes with wheat, dates, walnuts and banana and called it dry fruits cake!

Thanks for the link. Try using Jaggery instead of Sugar ... it tastes great. I havent used bananas much... I shall try now.
i am also a grt atta freak....please suugest some interesting recipies for my 18 month old.she do not have proper meals....
u can try making dhosa out of atta ...... ya i mean same as dhosa . make a paste of atta add salt n haldi powder n ajvine or its paste (optioal) but good for kids stomatch. hing powder n i pinch of chilli powder if needed . then on tawa spread it like a dhosha . many times it takes time to make it i mean to learn it. slowly u n use to it then . i mean u know na atta doesnot comeof fast. spread some oil or ghee n turn it but remember cook it well or else ........ it may give a stomach ache.
normally children like them . u may also add vegetables or something wich ur kids like like uttapa.

I wanted to know if the normal white bread that we get has more of maida?. So can we give this to kids. My kid loves Mcrennet sweet bread. Shd i change to wheat bread, then. Please suggest
i make atta cake too....it tastes really yummy.....sometimes to feed my kids..... carrot .....i make carrot cake.
@brilladith any kinda bread have some portions of maida too.......i give my kids bread only once a week. maida does't have any nutrition & induce contipation .
